undefeated record is everything to the casual fan
they see a guy that is undefeated, must mean they are the best in the sport

this.
when boxing was more mainstream , it didn't matter.
nowadays it does.
also back in the days , you fight more.
if you lose once in a year , it doesn't matter since you also won 10-15 times that year as well.
nowadays people fight sparingly. 1-2 fights a year.
you lose 2 times in 1 year and it's like a total disaster.

In boxing unbeaten records are so overated. Everyone was once unbeaten, up until the day they got beat that is. So everyone was unbeaten once.
PBF is unbeaten for now until he loses.
