I could see them tacking on an extra 5 bucks but standard definition will not go from 50 to 80 bucks, boxing heads are dumb but not that dumb. I could see for HD running 70 bucks which is insane but it is what it is.

Yeah, that seems much more likely. They'll just elevate the price one level.

The people saying they would just stream are just saying that now. Once the fight nears and you see the 24/7 Top Rank and Mayweather will have you eating out of their hands. They could charge 150 and you would find an excuse to pay the extra 75 bucks, "I'll just skip the next ppv". Boxing fans will be suckers for this fight.

                  So true...

Boxing promoters are experts at manipulating the demand for the fight.

Yeah... Floyd - Oscar was $54.95... They could goto $59.95... But I could see them pushing it to the mid 60's...

With that said it wouldn't be smart because the casual fan is what makes PPVs go over the top. The casual fan will not be abused like the boxing fan so the most I could see them is raise by 5-10 bucks. I could see the PPV running for 70 bucks in high def. 65 for standard and 75 for hd might be a bit stretching it.
