Pacman should forget..........

Let's say Pacquiao fights Cotto a 2nd time but doesn't retire right after because he still wants to fight Floyd.
While Floyd goes and fights Martinez (belt on or off the line doesn't matter). To stay sharp for a potential Pacquiao throw down.
After all that, Floyd will want a 80/20 split. Because Pacquiao just fucked over his draw value once again by fighting a fight that won't sell half as well as Floyd's fight.Comment

Precisely. I can understand if Manny decided to retire instead of fighting on as I'm sure he's well off financially. But he's staying in the game for a reason, so why not go for the bigger piece of the pie? Besides, the fight the boxing world is waiting for is Pac-May. If he decides to continue fighting after a bout or two with Mayweather, no doubt he'll have the blessings of the fans.Well fighting floyd would make him more money than he has ever made in a fight. While fighting Cotto again for a world title would be good for his legacy as far as winning in 8 different weight classes!!now no one wants to see Pac vs Cotto 2. We all want to see Pac vs Floyd and beating Floyd would be far better for his legacy than winning another world title to an oponent he destroyed before.Every fight could be your very last so take the one with the most money but true boxing fighter fight for honor and legacy wich is respectable but it doesnt pay the bills. So if i was Pac i will pick Floyd because he equals money & Legacy at the same time!!!!Comment

Pacman should fight Cotto and get his 8th belt in my opinion. Floyd can make money fighting the likes of Matthew Hatton, Paulie Malignaggi and the other chumps he usually fights. Remember..............Floyd don't give a **** about legacy? Let Floyd fight bums and Tomato cans for his money

A little common sense sure doesn't hurt.Let's say Pacquiao fights Cotto a 2nd time but doesn't retire right after because he still wants to fight Floyd.

How many rich people do you know that want to make LESS money? Most people who are rich want more and more, not less and less...Arum gets 25+ percentage of his income,so Arum wants Manny to get as much as he can....Manny cares just as much as Floyd about money, don't let their image fool you into thinking differently.
btw-Killing Joke were a great band....especially that lpLast edited by damned1974; 06-29-2010, 09:24 PM.Comment

I don't get what you mean. Sarcasm, a diss, agreeing? I don't understand your post.
Floyd will really want an even higher percentage though, that's a given. Pacquiao fights Cotto for a 154 title, great, whoopty doo. It will sell less than the first fight. Where as the only match up talks for Floyd besides Pacquiao is Martinez. If he fights Martinez he is doing over 1 mill, easily. Which will lead to Floyd having an even bigger claim to a higher purse.
60/40? Not anymore. It would be 70/30, 80/20.Comment

theres no point in arguing this floyd vs manny **** anymore. these guys are brainless who actually think fighting cotto again at a catchweight again winning a title from him again actually means as much or more as fighting floyd or anything else period.Comment

Floyd is the biggest legacy fight for Pac out there. Not Cotto, Margarito, nor even Williams.
If Pac beats Floyd even with a SD or a dubious decision, that win would dwarf every other fighter in his resume.
A greater ending for a stellar career if you ask me.Comment
