    Mosley/Mayweather Legacy

Mayweather definetley has the better skill set and record but names to add to his legacy is what he lacks

    Mosley fought:
    Vargas-twice and won(light middle)
    De La Hoya-twice and won
    Callazo-who gave berto problems
Margarito-Most feared fighter in the world pound for pound at the time
    Mayorga-just plain awkward

Ok he lost to Forrest twice but he would have given mayweather problems, Winky is a fight shane shouldn't of taken and did and would also be a style nightmare as hes bigger and a southpaw and cotto who floyd hasn't ever considered and had his best night against a slightly jaded mosley

Don't think Gatti, Baldimor, judah, hatton and marquez(at 147) compare to the names mosley has fought

ODH and Mosley i give full credit for and the corrales victory when he was a genuine super featherweight a victory against pacquao would change this fact i feel? Anyone agree disagree? No floyd hating

Mayweather has the better overall resume of wins.
Mosley has the best single win among the two (1st DLH fight).
Mosley has the better resume of opposition fought.

Mayweather has a better overall record of opposition fought, but Mosley definitely has the better quality of opposition fought.

Both are similar in the regard that they both blazed a trail of dominance from Lightweight all the way up to Welterweight, and continued to dominate opponets there.

But what seperated the two IMO is the fact that once they both got to Welterweight ; Mosley took on the tougher challenges.

I'm not saying Mosley's record of opposition at 147 is stellar, because I don't believe it is ; but it's certainly far better than Mayweather's.

Prime De La Hoya, Rivera, Collazo, Cotto, and Margarito > Baldomir, Judah, Mitchell, Hatton, Marquez.

Floyd's overall record looks better (what with all the "big" names, and the undefeated streak), but Mosley's record of competition is tougher.

Mayweather will be ranked above Mosley in the history books.

Floyd fought most of career at Top Rank. They're great matchmakers. Mosley is my boy just like Floyd. But I will never in my life understand why he fought Winky or Santa Cruz over Zab or Margo. Wish he got a belt at 140 against Tszyu, Mitchell, or Vince phillips instead of fighting John Brown, because he was ducked hard by Stevie Johnston
