i expect barrera to win comfortably, perhaps with a late KO
    wtf are you talking about.

Fana was the mandatory challenger for the wbc superfeatherweight title. He was his first opponent he faced after kicking Morales' ass all over the ring, and was making a damn defense.

Why should he seek out fights? He is the damn champion, and people should try and make a fight happen with him.

So you are saying he should vacate his world title in order to fight the undesirable fight in Marquez?

How do you HAVE to seek out tougher fights in a year's time, by refusing to accept a mandatory or be stripped.

    Your making no sense man.

Barrera's opponents in the recent years:

      1. Overrated Naseem Hamed
      2. Old Kevin Kelley
      3. Past his prime and friend Johnny Tapia
      4. Shoulda been retired, no power Paulie Ayala
      5. nobody knows Monkey Fana on PPV

Toughest fightas Barrera faced, he lost to too (morales). Manny Pacquiao, Erik Morales and Junior Jones.

Done wit this. The doo up above got a point. Barrera has good reasons not to fight Pac ever again. LOL

I remember one time when Barrera's motto was "**** the alphabet belts, I only want to face the best"

Once again. The opponent he fought before Fana was Morales. And he won the WBC superfeatherweight title.....and defended it.

          Simply logic.

Have you guys even seen Peden fight? "Barrera KO4 Peden" WTF is that?
PEDen is the IBF champ, so damn right this should be PPV.
Barrera is my 5th fav fighter, but damn, i know he aint gonna win this easy. I see a very late stoppage on the part of Barrera, OR Peden. Peden is a very very good fighter.

Peden is a bit ackward, and i remember when he fough Marquez. Peden's one tough dude, Marquez was beating his body so bad when he was in his stool he threw up ALOT. He fights alot like Chavez and Hernandez, though has a tendency to put his hands down. I think the better boxer will win, Barrera in 5 with hard, precise, counter punches.

I'm glad Barrera is taking this fight. He's unifying some belts (something Morales spent 2/3 of 2004 doing) and it's gonna be an explosive fight that Barrera SHOULD win.

However, if Barrera wants to be great, he has to at least try to avenge his loss to Pacquiao. If he loses again, so what, Pacquiao has his number. But if he doesn't try for a rematch, he will be a wuss forever

this is going to be a difficult fight for barrera.........peden is no pushover and he has a big heart.........i think peden will push and even hurt barrera..........i pick barrera by a hard fought close decision.

Wasn't the Chavez v. Hernandez fight the eliminator to see who fight Barrera?

The funny thing is, the only big Barrera fans in here are no other than:

                      ThaGreatest(me)
                      Runw/knives
                      Godzhand

Just to let everyone know, Barrera is the real deal, he will be the next great legend....(even though he is already one)

Easily my favorite fighter of this era.
