The answer should be obvious. Pac's fought a couple of months earlier was at 140, he weighed in at 138. The original catch weight was suppose to be at 143, but they both agreed to 145. Boxers need to build gradually to the next weight class.
When they realized brought his weight up nicely, they realized 147 was no problem, hence they fought Clottey who ARGUABLY beat Cotto the fight before.

Pacquiao is a punkass! All this catch weight fights are bull****. It's just a way to diminish the other fighters energy and ability to have a FAIR chance to win. I've never seen a more cowardly champion; avoiding random drug tests, and forcing the opponent to work harder losing weight, thus having less energy on fight night. ENOUGH OF THIS CATCH WEIGHT BULL**** ALREADY!!!!!

You must be new to boxing. It was DLH that brought up they should fight at 147. You must be a moron to think anyone can call the shots with DLH.
Pac came from 135, while DLH from 150.
        147 fight was justified.

dont act ******...we can read...it was a sarcastic offer letting him know, that he would whoop pac @ss at any weight...he would never have offered that if pac would not have tryied to play him like that...

the way you are wording it (leaving out that pac tried to weight drain mosely) would leave an impression on the average reader that pac never tried to weight drain mosely...like it was mosely that offered 140 cause he wanted to...

I don't know if 147 was justified... but certainly nobody is telling ODH what to do... it was Oscar's idea to come down to 147 anyway... and he came from 154, not 150.

How quickly people forget Delaquitter was the original catchweight king..

Anyways, I doubt this fight would be made at a catchweight especially with Steward in Cottos corner now..

If it does happen I would be pretty upset with Team Pac for going through with it.

It's exactly what happened actually. Mosley wanted a huge payday and a shot at Pac and he was willing to go to 140lbs to make it happen.

I agree. And people act as though Floyd is a "coward", Yet this guy has won titles in 5 weight classes and beat the official WBC champion every time. He never demanded catchweights or weight penalties, He just beat the best fighters at the official weight classes.

No, Mosley was actually serious about going down to 140, since his offer to meet up at 143 was ignored. Mosley was very serious. Remember, Roach wanted Mosley and Cotto at 143; originally.
