While I still think he'd handle Carl Froch with relative ease, there is no real need for him to come out of retirement. A Froch fight isn't really big enough to be worth it IMO. As long as he's still okay financially, he should stay retired and keep his undefeated legacy intact.

Wow, people are still holding on to the thought that Froch would Calzaghe?

I don't think any of the retired fighters should come back and face top fighters without a tune-up or two. It is a big disadvantage.

Makes no sense really. Only financially. It does nothing for his legacy. Froch already has a loss to an older version of Kessler. Would be ok if he fought someone like Dawson or Ward after

There's no reason to. Calzaghe is already comfortable with what he's done with his career. He was a good fighter, but it's hard to call him great even as an unbiased fan. His 168 run was great, on papers. His undefeated record is great, on paper. His win resume? is good, not great...and that's were he failed imo.

If he comes back to fight let's say someone who is hyped up as we speak, like Ward or Dawson or maybe even Bute, that can be a better win than Froch. He can't fight some who has lost his luster a long time ago like Jones or old Hopkins.
