No he wasn't, he was in his prime. Was he training properly? No... But, he was in his prime. That is like saying Tyson wasn't in his prime when he fought Douglas cuz he wasn't training properly.

Hamed was in his prime. Barrera was the one that looked upon as the fighter that was going downhill not Hamed. The Prince was the favorite and was suppose to beat Barrera.

He just wasn't as good as Barrera and that is why he got whooped. But, he was in his prime. Barrera just the greater fighter.

Sergio Mora fits in this thread. He is a lot harder to fight than it appears.

Hamed had been on the decline since his split with Ingle. Hamed didnt have the eye of the tiger anymore he had millions in the bank, wasnt motivated fot the fight.

Hamed had only boxed 8 rounds in 18 months this sort of inactivity is not good for someone who relies on reflexes. Hameds hands were shot also at this point which took away alot of the power he had previously.

Barrera ran for the majority of the fight and counterpunched Hamed who was trying to make a fight of it. If Barrera was a true warrior he would of stood toe to toe with Hamed with his hands down. All we got from Barrera was running and dirty tactics. Barrera was the better boxer not the better fighter. A fighter does not run he fights. Also at the end of the day Past prime Hamed won at least 4 rounds and bust up Barreras nose so it was far from getting his ass kicked.

A prime Hamed with Ingle in his corner would of made the adjustments nesscescary and with the power that a prime Hamed had would have KOed Barrera.

Thats nothing against Barrera, just prime Hamed was a beast.
