ive never seen this guy, is he any good, say compared to the british prospects at the same stage like Fury and Chisora and Sexton.

I keep hearing his name mentioned on this site.

Would be intersting to see how far he goes in the post-Klitschko era but even he were to face a 42 year old Vitaly or a 37 year old Wlad, he would loose.

ha, yeah man he's much more promising then those guys listed. He's young though with little amateur experience however he was the only american in the previous olympics to win a medal - got a bronze.

Nice thing about him is he's actually fit and not fat/flabby.

he's had 10 fights let's see how he progresses in the next couple years before saying stuff like that. We've hardly seen him at all.

              6ft 7 and only 220? holy ****.
Ill check hm out on youtube, can only find his 1st 2nd and 6th fight though so far. Havent watched yet but im guessing his 1st and 2nd were walks in the park (although looking at boxrec he seems to have made easy work of everyone so far)

He definitely has talent, but he's been fighting very soft opposition, people not even in the BoxRec top 500..

Fury fought a few tomato cans, but he also fights decent journeymen like McDermott. Chisora, Helenius and Pulev have been fighting MUCH better opposition and coming along very well.

They need to put Wilder in with some better clubfighters, some BoxRec #150 to #300 HWs or else he won't improve.

Obviously he's fought soft opposition as that's usually always the case for your first 10 fights or so. They were trying to move him quickly fight very active he fought 8 or 9 times in his first year then you have to remember he was suspended for 6 months because of that insane rule about not having profanity during your ring walk (he came out to a rap song that had some swear words in it!!!).

Plus you have remember this guy only had 35 amateur fights, so they will and should move him slowly.

that reminds me, i watched a fight on some random channel on sky one night a few months ago with sugar ray leonard as an analyst with some prospect who's last name was power i think (known as super power if my memory serves me right. I may be very wrong here, but he reminded me of tyson fury, had a mean sounding name, white, and not very good lol) fighting a last minute stand in who had never faught pro before, just for the army. He didnt look like much in that fight but they were raving on about him something serious. It was an american card, no idea who promoted it, but im guessing it was in leonards home town.

Anyone know who im on about? Whats the story with him?
