    Judah - Sharmba in September?

********** is reporting that Sharmba is reviewing contracts to fight Judah in September. If this fight gets OK'd, who do you think wins?

Right now I have to go with Judah, after Sharmba's performance against Kostya, but anything can happen. He's one of my favorite fighters and I've actually met him twice, so I'm rooting for him. What do you guys think?

I have met Sharmba several times.. He lives in this area. Anyway Sharmba looses this one. Zab has several things on his side. He has youth. He has much better footwork and balance. And he is more consistent. Sharmba is wishy-washy and comes in ok in some fights and horrible in others. Zab is also stronger and this my friend spells a recipe for a loss for Sharmba. Who knows what Sharmba enters the ring and who knows if he will quit on his stool and cry like he did the first time..against Tszyu Maybe backing out is ok if you are hurt but crying comon man...

Yea Sharmba, I hear lives right dpwn the highway from me. To answer your question: Zab EASY. Sharmba didnt even look good against Chris Smith. And the way he ducked out of fighting Joshua Clottey...Im not a fan anymore...

Zab make take care of him quicker than Tszyu did in their second bout. I like both these fighters a lot but Zab is just too quick for Sharmba, and his welterweight power will be too much for a guy just stepping up.

Since this matchup is being talked about now, looks more and more like Margarito will be fighting Mayweather next, since it sounded for a while like Zab-Margarito was a lock.

Zab, it'd take a few rounds for him to adjust for speed but once his timing is there he'll take out Mitchell, he doesn't have the strength to keep him off Judah in 8

Judah will win this one convincingly. Sharmba will always be remembered for his loss to Tszyu and it's not really a great memory. Judah is the more agressive fighter of the two.

I think Mosley needs another couple fights before he gets another title shot.

Judah may want Mayweather coming into their 2006 bout with a belt; Mayweather-Margarito in the fall? Margarito becomes a much bigger opponent if he upsets Floyd, so either way, Zab may not be worried about adding the fourth belt immediately.

Oscar De La Hoya isn't going to make 147 and if he fights, will fight two weeks later than this date.

I don't really have a problem with this match-up, other than it leaves Chris Smith out in the cold since his fight with Sharmba ended so early due to the headbutt.

The one thing I do want to say, though -

Spinks gave Judah another shot after definitively defeating him.

Judah should have given him a third fight. Spinks went up in weight, but I'm sure he would have stayed for Judah III; hopefully if he gets a few wins, Zab will do the decent thing and let Cory have another shot at the belts.

this post was originally in a different thread criticizing Zab's choice of opponent...
