Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr vs Zbik Bout Could Be a September Option

If Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. plans to stay at 160-pounds, one fight Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is already considering would be a clash against unbeaten WBC interim-middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik [29-0, 10 KOs] of Germany. Chavez won the WBC's silver middleweight title on Saturday with his twelve round decision win over John Duddy. [Click Here To Read More]

Yes, please make it happen so Sergio doesn't have to fight that tomato Zbik and he can go after better opposition like Dzinziruk. But wouldn't JCC Jr be Sergio's mandatory after this fight?

JCC Jr. isn't thinking about Zbik. JCC Jr. is enjoying time with his family.

If JCC Jr. vs Zbik is made in Mexico City expect the same thing that happened with Sturm vs De La Hoya, a pretty much unknown European titleholder that is robbed in foreign land. Not saying that Zbik will blowout Jr., but Jr. will lag it and a good deal will have it for the European.

i hope this fight gets made because it would be unfair to tempt jcc jr into a really big championship 154 pound against and lets be real a much more complete and battle hardened veteran in miguel. for his own good, walk away from miguel.

Martinez basically told Dzinziruk to **** off...

Zbik vs. Chavez would at least be a good fight to put someone in line to fight Martinez, more so than either of them have a case now.

Better than wasting a fight against Zbik. Zbik has decent quickness and good footwork, but Sergio would beat him up.

Martinez in his mid 30s, he would be better served fighting Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, or Williams.

Except for the Pacquiao undercard fight, JCC Jr. is seldom in a bad fight. A Chavez fight would be 10x better than a Zbik fight, and it would be an event as well. Zbik looks like he wears down, Jr. would more than likely beat him.

does'nt surprise me that arum is going after another tomato can no name. the thing that throws me off is that us mexicans celibrate each chavez win like he accomplished something.this does'nt help his career and one loss to a real boxer and all this fake hype goes out the window.
