If the critics are going to publicly blast Manny Pacquiao for his rise in weight classes, then they need to do the same thing with Floyd Mayweather Jr. In my opinion, there's more to be su****ious about with Floyd Jr than Manny Pacquiao. In addition to Floyd's rise in weight classes, there's his con****uous gaps between fights and his "retirements". Let's examine further:
Drug Testing
Just because Floyd Jr is the one demanding random drug tests doesn't mean he's always been clean. It just means he's talking the loudest. Most bullies talk like they're the toughest but they typically are the weakest. It's very convenient that Floyd Jr only started making drug testing demands when facing his toughest opponent ever.
As I've stated numerous times before, Floyd Jr's "drug crusade" was a self serving marketing ploy. And for those who want to argue that Floyd Jr just went through random drug testing with Shane Mosley, remember there was 18-19 of no blood testing before the fight. Ultimately, the random blood testing didn't really solve anything when it comes to testing before a fight.
Neither fighter has failed a drug test. Yet, Manny is still being accused. Why aren't we accusing Floyd Jr too?
Gaps between Fights
It was Floyd Mayweather Sr who said that Manny has had over 6 months to clean out the PEDs from his system. Well, what about Floyd Jr retiring for a year? What about the fact that Floyd Jr says he only wants to fight once a year? That's plenty of time for someone to get the PEDs out of their system. How can critics say Manny had time to clean out the PEDs but ignore that Floyd Jr has had more time than Manny?
Cheating
It was the Mayweathers who originally started saying that Manny Pacquiao cheated. Manny never failed any drug tests. But, because the Mayweathers went on a public lynching of Manny, the media started buying into the hype. It's pretty sad too. In America, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately, Manny has been treated as if he were a guilty man having to prove his innocence.
So, if I make enough noise about Floyd Mayweather Jr taking PEDs does that mean people will start accusing him and suspecting him as a cheater like they do Manny?
Training
Victor Conte recently said that one of the factors that contributed to his su****ions of Manny being on something was his long hours of training every day. Many MMA fighters train 5-6 hours a day in the months leading up to their fights. Just look over some of my past interviews where I ask them about their training regiments. Long distance runners train 5-6 hours a day, yet do we see Victor Conte saying they are su****ious. I think Victor is wearing out his welcome in the media.
Weight Gain
The biggest point of contention is Manny Pacquiao's rise through the weight classes. The Mayweathers claim that it was unnatural and that he had to be cheating. I'm here to tell you guys that Floyd Mayweather Jr's rise through the weight classes is even more su****ious. He put on over 25 pounds in his first few years and this was before the state of Nevada started testing for Steroids. So, should I start saying that his weight gain was unnatural and that he must have been taking PEDs? It would only be fair to say the same about Floyd Jr.
Many critics, like the Mayweathers, also point to the theory that Manny has gotten faster and stronger while gaining weight. They think that he shouldn't be able to. I'd like to point out the fact that Floyd Jr did the same thing in his late amateur to early pro days. In fact, let's take an in-depth look at Floyd Jr's and Manny's rise in weight throughout their careers. Let's see who is really su****ious:
