its like saying 'oh Floyd beat PAC...that means PAC whooping on MAB doesnt mean anything anymore'

see how ****ing ******ed that sounds?

So what do you think is going to come to 99 out of 100 peoples mind, if FMJ schools Pac?

    1. Pac was the fighter of the decade?

    or

    2. Floyd whupped that ass!

If they do happen to think of FOTD, whether rightly so or not, most will think the wrong man got the award. They will associate FOTD with being the best fighter.

Who was he hiding from? From COTTO? The one who ran when he was challenged by FMJ?

Mosley, who declined to fight him, not once but twice?
          or

Margarito who showed that he would have had ZERO chance in beating floyd by getting knocked out by Mosley. Serious, is there even really an argument as to how this fight would've turned out?

The man had been fighting very steadly since he was a teenager. Why is him taking a break such a bad thing?

              hey TS

here's a perfect example of that 'high standard'

retirement is accepted, rationalized and justified

I doubt they will be thinking much about the fighter of the year part. They might mention both(a few), but u and I know that in the end, the concentration will be on who won the fight between them. Just how it is.

Don't forget that Manny also got Fighter of the Decade. And yes, that's already in the history books and only the elite of the elite boxers receive this prestigious award. And nothing anyone can do to rewrite history.

                  Fighters of the Decade:

                  2000s Manny Pacquiao
                  1990s Roy Jones Jr.
                  1980s Sugar Ray Leonard
                  1970s Roberto Duran
                  1960s Muhamad Ali
                  1950s Sugar Ray Robinson

List of some of the greatest fighters ever.

You twisting my words, doesn't twist the truth.

No where, did I say that FMJ beating Pac, wipes out his body of work.

Ok, tell me this, HONESTLY! If u went to MOST boxing fans and gave them a list of very big fights over the decades. Would they more easily remember the winners of those fights or who was the fighter of the decade for each decade mentioned? Now apply that to the biggest fight of all time and then tell me what 99% of the people will be thinking about. If you can't give the correct answer to this one, then, u really should be rethinking the "dense" comment.

Not really. People are already saying after he beats Pacquiao he should fight Martinez or Williams to cement his legacy.
