JCC Jr vs Alfredo Angulo Now?

I know this topic was thrown around here in the past with Jr getting the short end of the stick. But how do you all feel about the match-up now? Who do you see winning if the fight were to happen now and why?

people need to stop talking about chavez fighting at 154, he isn't going down. why would he want to weaken himself?

Even Freddie said he could make 154, he was only a pound over the night before the weigh-in. Besides, it was a hypothetical question; Bob's gonna keep him fighting in-house for as long as it makes financial sense. Just answer the question. Previously everyone and their mother (including myself) was picking Angulo by an ass whooping. Just wondering if minds have changed with Jr's performance last night against John Duddy.

He isn't ready for world class guys, he needs more decent/contender level fighters for a while. Keep in mind Duddy was actually a huge step up in comp for him.

Alfredo is outboxable but Jr. isn't some master boxer and if he fought Angulo the way he would Duddy, he would get brutalized. Angulo has thunderous power and is a smart inside fighter.

Alex Ariza (the one who gets him into shape) said that he could easily make 154. And Ariza is an excellent strength and conditioning coach, so even if it takes a little extra work, he could get it done safely.

But this would be a reenactment of Cotto-Margarito. Chavez would put on a boxing clinic early, but Angulo would keep coming forward and eventually stop him late.

he looked pretty slender at 160 but he may be able to do 154 but could he do it and be strong. Ariza dont know, Roach dont know, no one does until he attempts it.

As far as Angulo as an opponent, great fight for the fans bad fight for Chavez. Even if he comes out with the win (highly doubtful) I have to imagine him taking massive abuse in that fight. If they want him down at 154 with a decent opponent how about Saul Alvarez? They need an ok opponent for him to showcase against and hopefully continue to improve against. One loss and Chavez goes on the shelf.
