In all the videos I've seen him shadow box, hit the pads, or the heavy bag, he commits a lot to his punches and movement. You would expect that from a word class athlete, but 5-6 hours is crazy. I'm sure he slows it down at some point and has to walk it off.Comment

Exactly what I was thinking. I think he takes 3-5 minute breaks, and like a 20 minute cool down.Comment

Exactly that's perfectly fine, but people are very ill-informed if they think there's no little breaks inbetween or during them routines or he just does 4 hrs on one single routine. That's just a waste of a workout if any dumb trainer puts any athlete through that.Last edited by Blubba; 06-27-2010, 08:21 AM.Comment

wake up at 6 in the morning for a 30-60 minute jog, go back home, sleep, wake up, relax, go to the gym at 1 and warm up for 30 minutes, skip rope for 1 hour, pad work for 1 hour, sparring for inbetween 1-2 hours(serious boxers will spar more than 12 rounds with 60, 30, 20 etc seconds breaks which add on to workout time) get to the track, sprint/run some more about 30-60 minutes
so yea, with many breaks inbetweenComment

We all have herd of pacquiaos legendary training routine where he work's out 4 hours non stop.
So my question is it really possibly to workout for that long in a sport such as boxing???
People looking in from the outside might say " baah wtf is the big deal with 4 hours straight". But for thoese of you who have trained for a fight will know just how difficult it is on the body.
People will bring up maby Michael Phelps. That dude trains like 6-8 hours a day. But swimming and boxing there is not even a comparison.
Plus he don't just swim for 6 hours a day. That varies in gym and stuff.
this is ****in ******. no way anyone can train 5-6 hours non-stop. there has to be many breaks in between the work out.Comment

It's certainly do-able depending on what kind of training you're talking about.
He definitely won't be sparring 15 rounds, doing 15 on a heavy bag and doing 15 on pads.
He may be doing dynamic stretching for 30 mins, warming up for 15-20, shadow boxing for a few rounds, then working on techniques though.
Steward said he developed Hearn's right hand power by standing there for literally hours with him, honing it over and over again inch by inch. He throw it in slow motion and steward would turn his body and feet and stuff for him - programming it into his muscle memory.
I'm not saying that's what pac does at all but thats just an example of how Hearns would train for "hours" but he wasn't busting a gut.Comment

if u want to be the best
youll train as hard as u can and spend most of your time in the gym training and giving ur best, you even willing to reach ur limit just to be prepared enough to prove to everyone that ur the best,
dont expect urself to reach ur goal if ur not doin ur best and not training hard youll get knockout for sure
then if ur a dumb arse and want ur arse to get knockout in the ring for everyone to see then dont train hard LOL LOL thats simple logic
what do u expect from the no.1 p4p pac training? u want to see him train like a bum?Comment
