Comments Thread For: Team Alexander: Bradley Has To Settle Things at 140 First

Devon Alexander's mananger/trainer, Kevin Cunningham, says Timothy Bradley needs to settle business at 140-pounds before he thinks about making a title run at 147 or 154. Bradley, the WBO champion at junior welterweight, is moving up to 147-pounds on July 17 against Carlos Abregu. Bradley has expressed interest in facing WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, WBO champion Manny Pacquiao and even WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. [Click Here To Read More]

True.. 140 seems to be a division that only big boxing fans follow and know. 147 is more mainstream and recognizable to the average sports fan(so more $$)... Alot of big names alot of dangerous fights..Good luck if he does go up.. He's gonna be in shark territory..

I hate these HBO/Showtime fighter contracts..Sometimes A fight can not be made because two ****** cable channels can't come together...Bradley fights for showtime, but all of the top oppostion for him fights on HBO.. Now what??

I like Devon Alexander, I think he's gonna be the next big thing in due time. But Cunningham needs to give it a rest already! Everytime you turn around this dude has Bradley's name in his mouth. Devon has a fight coming up, why don't they just concentrate on that, then when Bradley fights Abregu and Alexander is done with his fight he should start talkin again. Pay attention to the task at hand man, dude runs his mouth too much. Bradley has put in his work at 140 but he is on something thinking he's gonna get a crack at Pac or PBF? Sadly talent alone doesn't get you big fights anymore, and only real boxing fans know who he is. Casual fans wouldn't recognize him if he was walking down Hollywood Blvd with this belt around his waist. Which explains why threads he's mentioned in and other fighters aside from PBF and Pac don't get many comments. A shame really.

I can't lie I do like Devon he is a good fighter. But IMO he has not fought anybody and thinks he's is entitled to fight Bradley. Why not chase Ortiz or Peterson or Khan or Maidana. This guy is always talking about Bradley like that's his only dance partner,I want to see him fight Bradley just like everybody else but Bradley earned the right to fight at 147lb TBH in the Jr WW div nobody has fought better fighters(and won)then he has.Maybe Devon should fight a few more guy's at 140 and really prove that he belongs to even have Bradley's name in his mouth.

TBH Bradley ain't done much more than Alexander, Kendall Holt and Lamont Peterson were not pound for pound guys but Bradley chose to defend his title against Peterson when before he could have defened the WBC against Alexander. On the flipside I think Bradely should go to Welterweight, then Alexander can spend the next 2 years collecting all the titles and defending them. He's only what 23 so he has plenty of time. Cunningham must be desperate to get that money lol
