Steroids in Boxing

Hey guys,

i see it thrown around alot people saying Holyfield was on roids and Lenox Lewis and Roy Jones Jnr.

Are these people just saying it because a particular fighter beat ther favourite fighter (eg. Tyson Vs Holyfield)

Or were these guys actually using roids?
if they were how did they get away with it?

What about Vitali Klitschko?

Why is it....people diss Toney for using medically prescribed steroids......when VK used them and was disqualified from the olympics because of it.

I was under the impression that steroids were supposedly banned more for the safety of those that would abuse them than for others. Steroids can **** you up over time. I'm not sure exactly how, but for one, I've seen where athletes looking for an extra edge would be taking **** and getting serious nose bleeds and pissing blood and I think kidney failure.

As for steroids in boxing, I don't think they help a fighter. Not with punching power at least. If anything, they'd bulk him up and limit his mobility.

Look at the guys that have supposedly taken them. Toney, Jones, Mosley, and Vargas. It sure as hell didn't noticably increase any of these guys' power.

As for Mosley and Vargas, their **** came from Balco labs, which I really think anybody taking **** from there didn't know it was steroids. It was a popular, trendy new thing from California. Vargas and Mosley both live in California, from there.

LMAO!!, I meant blood. Edited it now.

They get away with it by getting someone else to take a piss test, if one is done. All states don't require it.

There are steroids in every sport, boxing is no different. Please don't be naive! Every boxer is on roids these days (not literally but you know what I mean), and if you don't want to believe that then you need to pull your head out of your ass.

I know for a fact that Lennox Lewis was using, I almost no for a fact that Holyfield was, and as for Jones don't even go there!

The testers are wise to someone else taking their urine test. Athletes have to piss in front of a doctor and then hand the sample straight over to them. The way they get away with it is by taking newly developed steroids that the testers don't know about. If the roid is a new brew they can't test because a test has not been developed for it cause they don't know there's a new roid out there. unless someone alerts them as was the case a couple of years back when a coach sent a used needle to the u.s. testing authority and slew of olympians and pro baseball players were caught.
