Ummm, most of it is also just down to gaining more experience, moving up and not struggling with the weight and getting better, learning on the job. It's not long enough for him to have gained a lot from Roach and any good coach could have done as much.

Geez, talk about seeing things that aren't there. His improvement is also probably as much due to sparring better fighters. A coach can't improve anything drastic in short amounts of time and nothing Jr was doing was any different than before. He's just getting better in general fight to fight.

When did you last see him? When he first turned pro? He was the same as last time out.

I disagree it doesnt even have to be just Roach teaching him "new things". It could just be the sparring at wild card, just having Roach as a trainer. He looked like he half assed his whole career...Im sure he knew he couldt step in wild card with that kind of attitude.

Roach and Ariza worked on his stamina big time. He was better defensively and the right hand was MUCH better.

        His accuracy was also better.

from the last featherfight punches at the cowboy stadium, he made alot of improvements. The power is one, stamina, and other skill as well. maybe he had it in him but it was diffinately not shown in the previous fight

Bingo, you are the only one making sense here. People don't understand what a step up in trainer and sparring partners can do. He looks completely different. He's calm in there, throwing great combo's and I thought his footwork was excellent, somthing Roach specializes in.

he was fighting against duddy, who's a well known punching bag

he landed at will and STILL didn't knock him out. he ate TONS of punches too, his defense didn't improve at all

Last time out he looked utter ****, got hit all the time with low guard, poor accuracy, and damn well nearly lost. I agree with Burner.

Tonight he looked like a future champion.
