How would you feel if HBO became like the UFC?

As in made a belt for each weight class and only put on fights between contracted fighters.

It would make it easier to make tournaments such as the super 6 and to make people fight eachother I guess.

Its just a channel its not a "league" or a sanctioning body.

It would have the same issues that UFC has. There will always be competitors. They don't have a monopoly on MMA. I have this lame Strikeforce crap on right now...

i think HBO would be more likely to co-promote events with showtime than say UFC would be to co promote with strikeforce.

i do think there would be some issues as far as showtime fighters facing HBO fighters. however - HBO usually does boxing right, its hard to imagine them ****ing up big time if they were promoting their own fighters.

however, i think things should obviously stay how they are. most of the good fights we want to see get made. promoting boxing events is crazy enough as it is, while cutting people out seems like it would make it simpler, i really think it would become a problem.

im surprised HBO never got in on MMA, they had the pockets to topple UFC. but lampley would never call MMA cards i think, and HBO would suck without lampley.
