Don't get me wrong, the layoff was ******ed and messed up his career along with a small portion of his skill, but I'd say its decent for 3 years. Mitchell, Judah, Hatton and Mosley are all good wins. I've seen better resumes, but his is still good.
He conveniently retired when the best in the division were fighting each other.

Mayweather did not purposely retire when the WW division was hotting up.

Lack of desire to carry on, hand problems and personal problems all contributed to his retirement.

Cotto already ducked him at 140, Mosley had ducked him twice before Floyd retired.

I will say this again. Cotto didn't want none. So please STOP saying his name. even bob arum said cotto was not ready. And cotto never once said that he wanted to fight floyd. He said he wanted to fight pac but he never said he wanted to fight floyd. This means that he felt that he had a chance at beating pac but not a chance with floyd. come on people use common sence.

                      I say not yet.
He clearly missed Cotto Pacquiao and Berto... But I believe he' superior to all of them... Yep.
He's too fast for Cotto, too slick for Pacquiao (which, as stated by Freddie Roach, makes a lot of mistakes, while Floyd makes very few of them), and too experienced for Berto, which maybe could face him in a couple of years, if he wants to have some chances. But right now, Berto's not ready for Mayweather.

He could suffer the relentlessness quickness and unpredictability ( ) of Pacquiao, but against Folyd's defense, I think that the Pacman could get tired a little early and Floyd could win by a late TKO or widely on points, if Pacquiao manages to make it to the 12th.

Anyway I think that Mayweather did enough to be considered the best boxer p4p, which he is. Followed by Hopkins, IMO.
