i think his skill set is up there amongst the best.. i dont like his attitude and how he disrespects his opponents but i cant deny hes a gifted and talented athlete
Does floyd have the best skill set of all time?

this thread displays the blind nuthugging and worshipping of floyd mayweather as if he invented boxing
nevermind the old ATGs like leonard, everything floyd does is perfect and he has the best skillset out there.
i can make the case for chavez jr being an underfeated cat, pbf is just overrated IMO, there aint ****ing way hes even a top 5 in the skills department in boxingComment

Agree. I think don't think he's the most skilled ever, but as far as in this era, he is the most skilled.this thread displays the blind nuthugging and worshipping of floyd mayweather as if he invented boxing

This a joke thread right? Ok I'll play!
Yes Mayweather has the greatest everything ever! He is the fastest ever, the best defensively, the best boxer, the hardest puncher, the tallest, the strongest, He is so good he could create a rock so big he could not lift it!
How I'd do?
Seriously TS I may be joking around, but you and so many others start a thread about Mayweather having the best skill set ever, meaning you are comparing him literally hundreds of greats through out the long history of this sport. Surely you and the many others here that somehow believe that Mayweather is anywhere near the level of the many greats of the past.
But rather than critizing you and the other young Mayweather fans that want Mayweather to be great just because you might lack the hindsight or knowledge of boxing beyond the last five years, I should be encourging you to open your minds and study deep in to boxing and it's history.
I am looking forward to it and welcome it.Comment

IMO, it would depend on your definition of skill set.
If you mean fundamentals, then yeah. Floyd is definitely up there. Most skilled just no. I mean Bhop, Pea, even Calderon or if you like old timers Finito, Burley might have a say regarding that one. And if I'm in nuthugging mode, I would even argue Sal Sanchez.
There was a video here that showed an analysis of one of Burley's fight and there is a similarity between him and Pbf. I don't know how the entire fight played out but it would seem that he is more cerebral and more skilled than Pbf.
If you go to the more general definition of skill, Pac would get a say at that. And he probably edges Pbf. I'm in the opinion that with this definition, you can say that Pbf is much more talented than Pac but Pac is more skilled than Pbf. This is up for debate I guess but this is my personal opinion. The best way to know is if and when they ever fight.

I'm not denying his skills, but please...the dude won't even let his hands go when his opponent is there to be hit, thus I'd say no. Have I studied boxing long enough to answer your question? no but neither have u, or pretty much most of the posters on this site..Comment

Strange but expected you would say that. There are many long time fans from the all over the world like myself that have questioned Mayweather's careful selection of opponents his whole career and question even more the overwelming inflatuation with him. Don't get me wrong Mayweather's ok, but not the fighter alot of new fans think he is and turning this against the fans of Pacman is just a defense. That is alot easier than listening what you would rather not hear.Comment

Like how can I take this seriously? Not trying to start a flame war but honestly.Comment

Fair enough I may have been rough, but I do feel it is true following the Corrales bout. I have followed Mayweather since the amateurs and I'm just calling it as I see it.Comment
