I read through 4 pages of the other thread and saw the same flawed logic over and over. I just wanted to address the main points.
- Even with a 240-250 lb limit both Klychko's still make it. Even at 235 they'd both make the limit.
- In the histroy of the HW division from Willard to Carnera, to Buddy Bear, to Cooney none of them were "SHW's". Only in size, not in skill.
Lennox, Bowe, Klychko's and perhaps Golota (skill not head) are the only real SHW's in the entire history of HW boxing. All this "It's a new era, the next generation is a new breed" b.s. is incorrect.
- A SHW fighter means you have the huge size plus the skills, speed, and athleticism of a "smaller" HW. Like i said only about 4 or 5 have ever existed. Lennox & the Klychko's are freaks and there isn't some huge influx of these guys currently or in the Amateur's.
- Ustinov, Dimitrenko, Austin, are big but don't have the skill, speed, coordination of Lennox or the Klychko's. Smaller guys can and do win vs them.
- Ibragimov, Chagaev, Povetkin, Haye, Boytsov, Adamek, Peter, Glazkov all "small" HW's. All can beat big guys aside from the Klychko's.
- The future.
Pulev is 6'4 1/2 about 240 with real skills but i don't think ppl would consider him a SHW.
Helenius is a SHW in size with a fast and very heavy right cross but is by no means exceptional. He'll be tough to beat but he's not a Klychko or Lennox. Aside from those 2 there are no real good SHW's on the horizon but neither of them qualify either. There are no true SHW's in the Amateurs either.
- Amateur HW division is 201lbs. SHW is anything above 201, so it's the same as CW and HW in the pros for dumbasses who don't understand that they're the same thing.
So in conclusion, skilled normal HW's will compete and most likely beat the giant HW's aside from the Klychko's. The Klychko's would still make the HW limit if SHW was made. There is no up and coming SHW in the Pro's or Amateurs that looks to be the next Klychko or Lennox.
P.S. Sorry for the condescending tone. It's just that seeing the same flaws regurgitated again and again irritates me.
