Because Arum wants to have Barrera fight him at 135 for the WBC title which would give Barrera a chance to make history. Everbody is debating why Soto is ducking Peterson. And I think fear is definitely a reason too. But the bigger picture is Arum helping out Barrera get a somewhat marketable fight that would get people interested along with a chance to become the first Mexican fighter to win four titles.

Although I would view it as a tarnished accomplishment if Barrera beat Soto even if Barrera is past his prime because Soto is a paper titlist like Diaz was.

Barrera broke away from Don King. How could he be with King and be fighting on Arum's card tonight? Doesn't make any sense.
