double jab a bit of headmovement and hit the body - decent pressure with good speed and power but..

Muhammed ali would have picked him apart, so much flair and lateral movement which would have beat tyson quite easily

tyson was great in his prime but he wasnt tested so we will never no how good he was in his gorilla dog years haha

the competition was 1 level above than todays competition and you probably disagree but its true. the only reason u may disagree is because they were american heavyweights - which makes all the difference eyy?

I know Tyson wouldn't spark him out.

But, a prime Tyson was a force, I don't care what anyone says. His speed and power in his prime is something history should respect. No other heavyweight with his style hit as hard and fast as he did. He was so quick for a big guy...if you're truly love boxing, I don't see how you can't give him respect.

Yes a prime Tyson was good enough to trouble anyone/anytime. If Joe Frazier could trouble Ali, a prime Tyson would have also, probably more so. Tyson's Achilles Heel may have been George Foreman though. It would have been really tough for a short guy to get his way inside against big George.

He might of been one dimensional, but his one dimension was extremely hard to negate, he was overrated though, particularly technically, and by his fans.

Put it like this, Holyfield was coming off a terrible performance against Michael Moorer which led many to believe he was a shot fighter, he was also knocked out by Rid**** Bowe, not to mention 34!! years old when put a beating on Mike, yet all his fans ever say is, Mike was past it, news flash, so was Evander.

Ill give you a list of hard fights Holy was in.......Dokes, Stewart, Tillman, De Leon, Bowe 1-2-3, Mercer, Cooper, Foreman, Qawi, Tyson was in probably one or two, the Ruddock fight maybe, yet he still got licked by Holyfield.

I loved the aura Tyson had, i love the fact he was such an anomaly, i love the fact he was such a devastating puncher, but i have to keep it real, he was good, very good, not great though.

I don't quite agree with the assessment of how Mike fought in his 'prime', ie. his early 20's, the years prior to what should have been his prime and defining years if only his boxing hadn't so badly devolved by the time he reached them.

But I do agree it would have been great to see his form in those years sustained, furthered and tested by the Greater quality of top fighters in the 90's.

Prime Tyson isn't overrated. It's his whole career that gets overrated. He was great in his prime and deserves what he gets for it. People just don't understand how short his prime was.

George would always beat Tyson. Any version, even old George...George liked to get inside fighters heads, he got it from Liston. When he went up against Moorer, at the first event Moorer was wearing glasses and George was like, "Why you hiding your eyes from me, boy?" He had the wolf mentality, maybe Tyson did too, but that mentality where you start off chipping away small at someone mentally just like in jail people who get their **** took, it always starts with the sneakers. Cus and Tyson watched alot of tape of Foreman destroying Frazier who shared Tyson's similar style and Tyson was awed by his power. I think Tyson would've lost to any version of George...

They do, they just subscribe to the notion he was unbeatable in it!!, they also dont swallow the Mike Tyson book of excuses.

The one that always gets me is.........."Mike stopped moving his head after Rooney left, he was not the same fighter" so who's fault was that!, we give him a free pass because he!! himself stopped apparently moving his head, he has a brain right, he did'nt suddenly get amnesia after Rooney left did he? thats right he could not think for himself could he, King and his wife were telling this grown man who to hire and fire and Mike had!! to act upon it of coarse.

Sometimes the excuses are so ******ed.
