Yeah, it's all good man. I updated that thread with a post and I edited the first post with notification, but not many people noticed. I'll have them up when I get back home. Strangely my camera wouldn't charge and I couldn't buy/borrow another one because that night I was leaving for a vacation (which is where I currently am). When I get back, first thing I'm doing is getting a camera or way to scan it. No worries, you'll have them.

Ali weighed below 215 pounds for all of his fights before the layoff and many more after 1970 also. One could claim that he should have been fighting at cruiserweight.

Of the 61 fights Clay/Ali fought 29 wouldn't be allowed nowadays because it wouldn't be heavyweight (= one or both opponents were below 200).

Of the remaining 32 fights Ali lost 4.

Of the remaining 28 fights Ali fought 10x against opponents lighter than Eddie Chambers, the fans would shout "they should move down to cruiserweight" and that's a "proof of how the division sucks"

Of the remaining 18 fights 2 wouldn't be allowed for medical reasons: Frazier was blind on his left eye and Cleveland Williams was gunshot. Another proof of the "dire state of the division"

Of the remaining 16 fights Ali couldn't KO his opponents (within 12 rounds) in 10 fights thus they would be proof "of how featherfisty Wlad is with a KOratio of 38%" and that "Marciano would KO this bum Wlad in 1 round"

Of the remaining 6 fights 1 was a bum Charley Powell (25-11) which would be another proof for the "worst era in heavyweight boxing"

You can wipe out all but a dozen fights as they were in Germany which as Ottke's record proves isn't worth considering.
Of the dozen we're counting Ibragimov etc can't fight, Mercer was older than dirt and Brewster kicked his butt.

But his record reads well if your only interest in boxing is running your finger over stats which you can manipulate. I suggest you try baseball lot of stats and lots of steroid users you'll love it.

All due respect, I disagree with the intent of this thread and the excuses made within the original posting. That said, I find Muhammad Ali hugely overrated. His wins were due to him running away in the form of a dance and clinching his opponent if they got within three feet of him. No skill involved. Other than his ability to take a punch in the rope-a-dope years, Ali's not special at all.

Get out of here man. Ali at his best was a 6''3 210 man who had the overall speed and co-ordination of a lightwewight. Unbelieveable talent. Combine that with an exceptional boxing brain, and you are saying he wasn't special.

The difference between me and you is that I base my posts on FACTS (gunshot wound of Williams, weight of opponents, fight after loss etc) while you merely post some nonsense opinions like "Ibragimov can't fight" or "They fought in Germany".
