Cotto vs. Chavez or Cotto vs. Margarito

Chavez would bring decent money with the whole mexico vs pr thing, while obviously being the easier fight. I want Cotto to rematch Marg, but I want another tune up or two first.

To answer your question Marg is the more lucrative fight, while chavez brings good enough money while being far less of a threat.

Thank cotto for giving margarito the chance to be a star for taking him on in the first fight and now he will give margarito a second shot at the big time. I would like cotto to take on chavez jr not for a tune up but to expose all these boxers that are undefeated thinking that that means there the best. foreman exposed by a 5'7 welterweight, chavez is a middleweight that will get exposed next but if he fights margarito so be it. lets get it on and may the best man win.

Yup..but for Cottos case..i say 1 more fight with Steward b4 any rematch..Marg or Pac....it could mean the difference from another more hard fought loss...and a convincing win.

Cotto's fought everyone who is everyone except for Mayweather. Also Cotto's last fight was at least against a title holder, Margarito can't even claim that. Cotto KO'd his guy, Marg nearly KO'd himself from exhaustion...

As for who is a better choice, from a fan perspective I want him to fight Marg again. However, I think the better choice is to fight Chavez simply because its the easier fight. It'd be a solid PPV buy rate, the casual fan knows who Cotto is after the Manny fight and simply based off name they'll want to see what JCC's son can do. Also, Cotto and Steward have built a solid base to work with another tune-up would only improve it, as well as it being a very winnable fight for Cotto. One more thing it would do is check how good Cotto's chin is at the weight. JCC isn't much of a fighter but he does have some solid pop, its not Cintron power, but its enough to get Cotto used to some 154 hits.
