I dont think Roy can get him. Not because of the lack of talent or anything but I honestly feel that Tarver has gotten into Roys head. Now Roy is talking about fighting Hopkins and he has seemingly forgotten Antonio Tarver.
How can Roy be scared or run from a guy he's already fought twice? LOL...is Tarver serious?
Let's see...Tarver knows Roy's songs by heart, wears Roy's boxing shoes, and studied him since he turned pro...can we say stalker? lol...(^_^)
Seriously though, Tarver could not have gotten into Roy's head when he was younger, or if Roy had never gone to heavy. That's because a fresh and primed Roy who doesn't try to get ****y coming down from heavyweight beats Tarver by UD 9 times outta 10.

SL chimes in on this thread? Shocker!
Seriously though, you have a good point, I'd take Roy by UD12 at any point in their careers, as long as Roy is motivated and focused he is unstoppable, but he really should be ashamed for his poor showings and I think he relly needs to come back and, in the words of Lennox, "cement his legacy" by beating Tarver convincingly
You know, after talking to a friend of mine who was in Roy's camp for the Johnson fight and hearing how little Roy trained, I also tend to think Roy could come back and beat Tarver one more time. However, if Roy doesn't enjoy boxing and cannot find the will to even TRAIN, no way should he fight.
Also, I noticed something in the Tarver rematch. Roy has developed a strange lump on the back of his head. In the first Tarver fight, Roy was hit behind the head multiple times and had a purplish swelling behind it after the fight. As they were being introduced for the rematch, you can see the back of Roy's head and it just looks stranger than it has in the past with a squarish protrusion that I certainly didn't see as pronounced earlier in Roy's career, and I have his whole career on DVD.
Considering that...I'm worried. But yeah, beating Tarver one more time would just be...incredibly sweet.
