When i was young Duran was my favourite boxer. But i think too many lacklustre performances is detrimental to him being that high. Pacman is higher.Comment

Top 10 for me yes. But putting him in top 5 can be justified. Probably the best lightweight and a beast of a fighter. Faced the best of the era all the way up to middleweight. He fought a lot of cans this is true but you can't really look at him with todays glasses, it isn't the same if you didn't grew up watching him.Comment

Again Duran was one of if not my favourite boxer about 20 years ago. But his losses to kirklain lain, being knocked by Hearns, saying no mas to SRL, and a few other performances takes is away from his ever so slightly.
Pac has performed more outstandingly at the highest level than him, against better opponents and more dominantly.
Duran would not have done to Clottey or Cotto what pac did. Beat them possibly or likely but not the same way Pac did. Visually to the naked eye, you can see Pac has better tools available to him in handspeed, and combinations and just does things no one else can do. Pac stands out from the crowd and his peers.
Duran was simply just one of the best in his time, but not standout in any way.Last edited by hugh grant; 06-25-2010, 06:41 AM.Comment
