BROOKLYN – Undefeated Top-Five welterweight contender and the pride of Argentina CARLOS ABREGU blasted his fellow countryman and World Boxing Association (WBA) interim super lightweight champion Marcos Maidana for his continuous litany of excuses for not fighting undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley. Very amateurish on Abregu's part to try and twist Maidana's public statement like this; a press release that was sincere and apologetic in nature. Maidana came clean on this and openly admitted there was never a back injury or any injury for that matter, showing that he acknowledged the "duck." To me this showed some serious class because Maidana implied that, from here on out, everything will be on the up-n-up and he won't stonewall negotiations even if there's disparity within his own camp, manager et al. Compare this to Haye's alleged back injury, Pavlik's alleged staph infection, Judah falling through a shower glass and the list goes on...and I laud Maidana for coming correct which is in stark contrast to the aforementioned crew of cry babies that stonewalled Boxing from circa '08/'09. I'm not a fan of Tim Bradley but will definitely jump on his bandwagon to starch this guy on July 17th. Hell I'll even turn a blind eye to Bradley's dirty tactics like leading in with the head, rabbitt coming out of a clinch, and those open glove sc****s with the lead hand.Comment

Here's the thing... Abregu didn't actually say any of this. Do you think he really would be making a "Lady Maidana"/Lady Madonna Beatles song reference?
Press releases like this one are put together by some very creative, very funny publicists, who put the words in fighters' and trainers' mouths.Comment

they have arguably the greatest middleweight who ever lived in Monzon, yes better than Hagler. And Sergio Martinez is the lineal middle weight champ, and just gave up his 154 strap.
WTF are you talking about moronComment
