I used to take ripped fuel back in the day. Bought it at GNC. The main reason I took it was because of the ephedrine, which was legal then and that was the thing to do. We all took it because it got us amped up before lifting weights and also was a good appetite suppressant. I would also take it during the day sometimes if I was tired or whatever, just wakes you up.

Sure. He wants to use PED's only for ATG Hall and not for Hill, Toney, Ruiz and the other clubfighters......

People will excuse a positive test for Roy, and then turn right around and swear up and down that Manny is guilty without any evidence at all.

Typical of the nonsense around here though, just another day at Boxingscene.

I forgot which magazine it was from around 1998-9 where they would ask four experts to pick the winner of a possible showdown (KO Magazine?). In that particular issue, the experts were asked who would win between Jones and either Hopkins or Michalczewski. Montell Griffin was one of them. I think he picked Jones and noted Jones' underrated strength. He then made a comment that Roy had really gotten big. He continued, "I don't know if he's lifting weights or something but he definitely got bigger." You could tell he believed something was amiss. There are many more who we may never know about.
Why are these guys acting like im Canseco, like I gave him the stuff and then told on him or something. I just happen to be thinking about the May/pac issue and Roy jones went on record saying pac shouldnt do it and then I thought about why. I pushed this to the back of my mind and now its back and I just wanted to touch on it.

I will start off my post by saying yes he did test positive for a banned substance by the IBF... it's his fault, and he's an idiot for doing so.

With that said, not all banned substances are created equal, just like all crimes are not created equal.

A person who robs a house, and a person who murders 3 people, have both broken the law, but you certainly wouldn't hold them to the same counts or responsibility.

What I am trying to say is, What Roy tested positive for... was not a hardcore (needle injection) HGH, EPO.. SERIOUS steroid. Although, it may have been banned by the IBF... it was nationally legal... and sold throughout the entire country in stores like GNC in every mall outlet everywhere.

Does that make it right? No of course not. But I ask you to at least look at how severe is the chemical, when it was put in energy drinks and sold in outlets.

You will never find HGH or hardcore steroid muscle building roids in any store in a mall.

                There are levels of severity.

I felt the need to really research myself, the differences in the steroid issues between fighters.

                James Toney

Tested Positive for: boldenone and stanazolol

Toney tested positive for boldenone and stanazolol, and Batchelder tested positive for stanazolol and oxandolone, Garcia said. If they don't appeal, the boxers would be suspended one year from the date of their fight.

Three-time champion James Toney tested positive for steroids and could face a one-year suspension from boxing.

                Generic name: Boldenone Undecylenate

Boldenone undecyclenate is a very popular steroid. This steroid is only available legally at a veterinarian clinic. Boldenone is a highly anabolic, moderately androgenic steroid. For this very reason, it is typically taken in a stack with other steroids like testosterone if you are on a mass cycle or perhaps with winstrol if you are on a cutting cycle. The main benefit of taking equipoise is that it increases protein synthesis in the muscle cells. Boldenone gives you slower but much more high quality gains in muscle as opposed to the normal "quick" muscle gains that you would expect from a testosterone. You can expect around 3 weeks before you start seeing results and they are not going to be staggering, but will be "more permanent" than any gains you would get from any of the multiple testosterones that are available. This steroid stays active in the system longer than most of the testosterones as well. This makes equipoise a poor choice if you run the possibility of being drug tested.

                Stanazolol also known as Winstrol

Winstrol® is a popular brand name for the anabolic steroid stanozolol. This compound is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, although its activity is much milder than this androgen in nature. It is technically classified as an anabolic steroid, shown to exhibit a slightly greater tendency for muscle growth than androgenic activity in early studies. While dihydrotestosterone really only provides androgenic side effects when administered, stanozolol instead provides quality muscle growth. Admittedly the anabolic properties of this substance are still mild in comparison to many stronger compounds, but it is still a reliable builder.

                -----------------------------------------------------------------------

                Shane Mosley

Tested positive for "The Cream" and the "The Clear" From BALCO Laboratories.

Shane Mosley said last night that he inadvertently took two designer steroids — "the cream" and "the clear" — before his championship fight against Oscar De La Hoya in 2003 after he was misled by BALCO founder Victor Conte about what he was actually taking.

                The Cream

The Cream is the slang name given by Victor Conte to a transdermal designer steroid, containing testosterone and epitestosterone, designed by BALCO to avoid detection on drug tests. While testosterone is certainly an anabolic steroid, epitestosterone is simply an inactive epimer of the parent hormone hormone. The reason the latter would be included in “the cream” along with testosterone is to beat doping tests based on the testosterone:epitestosterone ratio.

Roughly 50% of epitestosterone production in human males is from the testes (1), the rest being produced via other pathways (2). In general a 1:1 ratio is a normal testosterone:epitestosterone ratio. Both testosterone as well as epitestosterone (3) are able to be tested for on a doping control test.

The Cream is a powerful anabolic steroid applied directly to the skin. Using The Cream can bring muscle gain.

                The Clear

Unlike most anabolic steroids, this one was synthesized in the last couple of years with the intent for it to be used by athletes seeking to beat sports doping tests. It’s actually a pretty decent anabolic, basically being a cross between gestrinone and trenbolone (1) Frankly, it would have likely still been beating tests and helping athletes break records, if a sample of it hadn’t been sent by Trevor Graham (2-3), a disgruntled coach, to Don Cailin of the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The Clear became a popular steroid used during the Balco scandal. Balco gave this undetectable steroid to many professional athletes to gain an edge.

                -----------------------------------------------------------------------

                Fernando Vergas

                Tested Positive for Stanozolol.

Marc Ratner, the athletic commission's executive director, said that Vargas' post-fight urinalysis came back positive for stanozolol. It's the same drug that cost sprinter Ben Johnson his gold medal and world record in the 100 meters at the 1988 Olympics

Two-time junior middleweight champion Fernando Vargas is disputing claims by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Friday that he used steroids before his loss to Oscar De La Hoya two weeks ago.

                Stanozolol (also known as winstrol)

Winstrol® is a popular brand name for the anabolic steroid stanozolol. Roy Jones Jr

                Tested positive for androstenedione.

The post-fight drug test showed Jones and Hall both tested positive for androstenedione, which is a banned substance by the IBF. Androstenedione is a natural steroid hormone that was commonly available over the counter as a supplement until 2004 when the FDA made the over the counter sale of androstenedione illegal. Jones admitted to taking the product "ripped fuel" which was sold in GNC and every nutritional supplement outlet.Jones was able to keep his title and was not fined or suspended for the positive test. All of Jones' other post-fight drug tests before and after this fight came back clean. He ended the year by stopping Eric Harding in the 10th round of a one sided fight, once again successfully retaining the title.

                Androstenedione

Androstenedione is a steroid hormone produced in the adrenal glands and ovaries. It functions as a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen. Androstenedione ("andro") is manufactured as a dietary supplement and marketed as a natural alternative to anabolic steroids, claiming to enhance sports performance and increases muscle mass. However, some studies suggest that Androstenedione supplementation may have adverse health consequences due to its androgenic and estrogenic properties. [1-4] Androstenedione has been banned by The National Football League, International Olympic Committee, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Due to the lack of proven benefits and the potential risks, on March 11, 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suggested that manufactures stop distributing andro supplements. [5] In October, 2004, the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004 was approved by the Senate and the House, and signed into law by President George W. Bush. As of January 20, 2005, this law is now enforceable.

PITTSBURGH--General Nutrition Centers (GNC) will begin checking customer ID to verify the shopper is 18 years or older when buying products intended for adult use. Affected GNC products include those containing ephedra, kava, melatonin, androstenedione or synephrine, which all have warning labels regarding underage usage.

ROY JONES JR. IS IN DENIAL

                      MIAMI, FLA.

When questioned about his lack luster form in training Roy Jones seemed lost for words and so he should. This is his first bout since the new approved commissioned human growth hormone test is being used. Anthony Hall the former head of doping was newly re-appointed after being proven right in the James Toney case (See appendix 43) has demanded weekly tests for Testosterone and groth hormone for Roy Jones Jr.

Mr Hall has claimed and shown undeniable evidence of irregular testosterone levels in mr Roy Jones, who has claimed that it was suppliments that caused the ****e in his serum levels. Those claim have been squashed by male hormone experts who called them farsicle.

I caught up with Mr Hall during my stay in Las Vegas last week and he stated: "This is the first fight that we are able to put together a testing regime foolproof to any comebacks. Its the same regime mr Jones took part in back in 97 but this time it has a government seal on it, his lawyers or anybodies lawyers for that matter can contest." When pushed by his distain for Jones he added: " I and the rest of the Nevada and New York state know that he (Roy Jones) was using illegal means going into all of his fight from 1996 FACT." a loophole and good lawyers got him off." When i pushed Hall about the statements hes made he said: "Look its in black and white every fight since 1996 we tested his serum testosterone levels they were through the roof. Now those tests which are 99.9% accurate were called wrong i will be intrested to see how he performes in his next bout if his performance levels stay the same then i say hes still a cheat, but i have a feeling he (Roy Jones) will not be able to sustain the level of performance without using these hormones"

"Lets see how he does in the Tarver bout"
This is all always found out after the fact. Boxing had a chance to blow Jones out of the sky, and didn't, and now you expect fans to believe this information is gold NOW lol...
