It would probably easily be the best 24/7 in the history of 24/7's.

If HBO didn't do it for this fight, their boxing division should all be fired.
Two guys that don't really speak English? Plus, the amount of money they'll put into promoting Pac/Floyd(which would have to be happening for this fight to get made).

I can't see HBO giving this fight a 24/7. I'd almost bet on it. 24/7's aren't handed out.

Calzaghe vs Jones wasn't an Emmy winner either lol. I agree though that it really depends on the promotion for Floyd vs Pacquiao or if it even happens. I'm assuming there's gotta be a point where both GBP and TR have to move on if Pac vs Mayweather isn't inked soon. Before we know it it's gonna be November lol.

And I think giving RJJ/Calz a 24/7 is a reason why they have become more stingy in doing 24/7's. That fight did like 200k buys, it was a total disaster.

A 24/7 with guys that can't really speak English is something HBO will balk at. I'm almost sure of it.

I definitely hope I'm wrong though.

Yea.. they could probably pull in atleast 600k .. If they push it right could get close to a mil. I want to see this fight.. or cotto take on floyd. Always wanted to see that. Cotto's style would be interesting to see against may.

First fight nearly did 500k, so with the drama of Margarito and the first fight being classic it isn't crazy to say 750,000 to a million buys. A good 24/7 will really help because casual fans that didn't see the first fight would know they are getting a real fight. It would do very good numbers.

This fight could generate 1million + PPV IMO.

I can see it hitting the 1 million mark simply because of the story. HBO planted a seed IMO, when they showed Marg's wraps before the Manny fight. So a big audience knows about that already, also the fact that they don't speak that great of english is a lousy reason. Cotto speaks it fine, just doesn't speak much and now with Steward in his corner there'll be nothing but english I would imagine in camp. Secondly... they had a 24/7 for Pac/Cotto why wouldn't for the biggest grudge match in a very, very long time?

Because Pacquiao, at the time, was considered the biggest draw in the sport.

Neither Cotto or Margarito can claim that.

No, but for a fight that did 500k the first time around without the wrap scandal why wouldn't you have one? Cotto is also 3rd behind Pac/May currently in PPV buys so there is no point in having a 24/7 unless Pac/May are in the title?

If everything works like HBO wants it to, then Pac/May will be on Nov 6. They can then show the replay the following Saturday and that would be the lead in to Cotto/Marg 24/7. It would have a huge audience from the replay alone, add in the wrap scandal storyline, FOTY winner, grudge match of the century, show the first fight the week before the rematch and you got yourself a huge PPV buy rate. Yes, 24/7 only makes sense I don't see how you cannot have it.
