Allow me to explain.
1. As soon as 154 heats up, Williams leaves the division to seek bigger opportunities at 147. However nobody is gonna fight him there and he knows it, so what's the point? Berto and Floyd can't fight him, Manny and Cotto wouldn't fight him and Mosley advised him several times to stay at 154. So what is he gonna do other than sit around and complain about how he's so avoided at 147, when one of the liveliest divisions is waiting for him?
2. Martinez has fought three very tough fighters in a row and is finally a p4p fighter. Why not make a little money now? He is running out of time, and wants big fights. He's already proven himself and wants to make his name known. Williams wants big fights too, but how is he gonna get some dropping down to 147? The only dude at 147 who even mentioned his name is Tim Bradley in a recent interview, and he'd school Bradley so badly right now that he'd reconsider boxing, and the world would shot on him for fighting someone nearly a foot shorter than him from a lower division. Clottey also mentioned his name, but when Williams called him on it he was ghost, and he wouldn't gain much from a Clottey fight anyways. It would be the Winky fight all over again, but worse.
