If Floyd fought Clottey what will be the PPV numbers?

The poll results only show peoples bias. I'd expect the fight to do more than 1 mil. HBO and other advertisers would be more willing to invest money in advertising. Thats what some people forget. HBO and other advertisers didn't feel they would not make a good return on their investment so they didn't do a 24/7 for pac nor did other regional advertisers (foxspots, MSG). Addditionally, you have the 100k or so who buy hoping to see floyd lose.

Pac is a great draw. That he can make 700 k vs clottey is exceptional. But floyd sells more. Just deal with it.

But this poll states that if mayweather is pitted with the same opponent as Pacquiao. He would even have lesser ppv numbers, therefore Pac is bigger draw than Mayweather. So May asking a 60/40 split is ridiculous knowing pac is clearly the bigger draw. But just so it happens 50/50 is spot on.

Manny was on PPV BEFORE Mayweather....

May was fighting on american soil longer than Pac And still this poll has proven that if Floyd faces the same opponent as pac such as Clottey here, he will even have lower ppv buys. So asking 60/40 is ridiculous. Infact it should be 60/40 in favor of pac, but pac as a generous guy will be fine with a 50/50 split. As great match-ups are made by 2 great fighters.. I have a feeling May vs Clottey would probably be around 500ppv.

Remember when Oscar fought Mayorga. He was the cash cow back then.

But Mayorga wasn't much of a star like Clottey was when he fought pac.

PPV numbers for Oscar vs Mayorga fight did only "500ppv buys." That is from a cash cow like Oscar.

I made this thread to show that. It takes 2 to tango.

Selling a good show need 2 elite popular boxers to perform.

That even if your a cash cow like DLH was. He couldn't pull large numbers if your opposition wasn't that poplular and great as he is.

Same as Pacman who fought a 'b' list fighter named Clottey.

And if you let Floyd be in Pac's shoes and instead was the one who fought Clottey that night.

Therefore, great numbers are done when 2 elite fighters are matched with each other.. As was, PAC vs Cotto and May vs Mosely. But the biggest fight is Pac vs May this november.

And to make it happen, it shows in this poll, pac is the bigger draw than Floyd if pitted with the same opponent, but 50/50 split is all good just to get this fight to happen.

Clottey vs May so far as of today July 1, 2010:

Floyd will do below 700k ( 65 voted it would go 500k + 47 voted it would go below 400k ) = 112 people think he would even go lower than what Pac did with Clottey, while only 67 think it will go higher than 700k.

So far this poll is showing that people think Floyd will do even less with Clottey

Nope, It's not just me but the boxing fans whohave voted here. You can't even accpet it when most rational people have voted for 50/50.. I'm for fairness but you just think your guy is so great. If they fought prior to Pac vs Clottey, they could have done about 500-600k..
Now, seeing Clottey hide like a *****, it wouldn't exceed 400k..
