Middleweight Ian "The Cobra" Gardner will make his return to the ring against Mohammad Said on Tuesday night at The Roxy in Boston, Massachussetts. Gardner (18-2, 7 KOs) is rebounding from a loss to unbeaten Arthur Abraham, after big wins over Tokunbo Olajide and Kuvanych Toygonbayev. Said (16-3, 9 KOs) had his big breakthrough in his last fight, an impressive upset win over former European champion Danilo Haeussler last December in Germany. The co-feature has middleweight Rasheem 'The Untouchable One" Brown (15-2, 13 KOs fighting against Chris Troupe (9-3). The card will be televised on ESPN2 and is promoted by Cappiello Promotions. Gardner is coming off of a 12 round close unanimous decision loss at the hands of the unbeaten Armenian star Arthur Abraham.
"I gave that fight away," Gardner said from his training camp in Brockton,MA. "I wasn't hurt but I got caught off balance a couple of times and went down. That proved to be the difference in the scoring"
The 31 year old Said, who is a native of Jordan, now fights out of Las Vegas, NV.
He has won 12 of his last 14 fights with his two losses coming at the hands of two-time world title challenger Raul Frank and 2000 Olympian Jerson Ravelo. Both losses were tightly contested decisions.
Gardner's most noteworthy wins have come against Tukunbo Olajide and Kuvanych Toyganbayev.
The co-feature bout has Philadelphia's Rasheem 'The Untouchable One" Brown 15-2 13ko's fighting against Chris Troupe, 9-3 5ko's, of Atlanta.
