Your favourite Sugar Ray Robinson KO?

How about this one against Graziano when he made Graziano do an early version of the chicken dance, not the right leg shake.

Or when he destroyed Fullmer with a left hand going backwards.

Turpin II because he held nothing back, pure savagery.

Yeah that was savage, although at first Turpin did well to avoid a lot of those shots, then he got hammered.

The obvious pick is the Fullmer KO such an incredible punch, but his KO of Luc Van Dam who wasn't a great fighter but the KO in itself is so great to watch. I think it was a triple left hook that finished the job and it's probably the earliest point (in terms of years) where I've seen a triple left hook.

          Here's a video

EDIT: it's a triple left hook twice to the body and once to the head

Yes I remember that fight, amongst others. I think that occurred on his European tour where he travelled all over and fought every champion. Van Damme had a good reputation actually, but was overwhelmed by Robinson's expertise.

Then.....of all happenings, I think Robinson came back to England and lost to Randolph Turpin.

By the way, i think that the Fullmer KO was his best. It was a true KO, the guy was knocked unconscious, and he had been winning the fight before Robinson surprised him. He always seemed to give Robinson hell, and it was really an excellent win for him, as he was well on the downslide at the time, although still a terrific fighter. I remember this fight, saw it as it happened, on TV.

Later on, they fought again, Robinson was regarded as finished by everyone except himself, and he was just pushing 40. It was judged to be a draw, and I can tell you guys that Robinson was robbed, he won at least 10 rounds. I gave him 11.

Even today, when Basilio is asked about his Robinson fights (usually at the Canastota shindig) he has only very "grudging" praise for Robinson.

But I think that the boxing "powers-that-be", were tired of Robinson's difficult persona, the negotiations for the Basilio 2 fight soured many.

That was practically Robinson's trademark combo, used it all the time. Often he would also do alternating hooks to the body then a double left to the head, leaping into the second to reach.

Sorry guys, my computer "jumps" and I didn't catch it and correct it this time. The Basilio comment should have been after the "powers-that-be" comment.
