Abraham is just a badass, he may not be the most talened fighter in the division but dudes a warrior. He goes out to take the others head off, doesnt like to leave his fights to the judges...mad power.
Very different cases, B-Hop had his biggest win already and he fought in HBO and PPV way before that but he wasn't than popular because he was boring and always be.
On the other hand Dirrell was unknown to a lot of people, he was just a former olympian, he just needed the exposure and btw was overshadowed a robbery and a ***** move foul. But I get what you mean, he was the underdog of the tourney and now he's one of the favorites.
after the Curtis Stevens fight, people on here were vowing never to watch him again as long as they live. HBO trashed him during and after the fight as HORRIBLY boring.

I am glad someone else here remembers that fricking awful fight.
how can anyone like dirrell? never seen someone run as much as he did in the froch fight - pathetic.
as for abraham - i used to love the guy, but he gives away the first 9 rounds before he starts to fight. ******ed. he has the chin and power to be such a monster at 168 but he just has such an ignorant style.
i like bute out of those. dude has some great skills and wasn't afraid to give andrade the rematch he deserved - gotta love it. however he needs to be really tested - i hope his next fight is against someone great, but its hard when everyone in the division is tied up. id love to see him beat down bad chad.
I remember Harold Lederman saying it was the worst fight he'd ever seen in his entire life.
I was chatting with Iceman Scully who knew both guys in the ams and he said Stevens had a huge rep in the ams as a puncher and that Dirrell knew it and danced and boxed.
I just kept thinking, that's a way to win, but you ain't gonna endear fans.
He fought much braver against Abraham, I will give him that.
But it's the same reason why HBO never gave Junior Witter a second chance after he embarrassed himself against Zab Judah.
I was talking to Steve Bunce at the Froch-Kessler fight and he made the point to me that Dirrell had to step it up and couldn't keep relying on that style to win at all.
That basically he had to show more courage, if he was gonna get a victory.
