  • Cotto to fight Witter or Corley Sept 24?

From the looks of it Miguel Cotto will be back in the ring on Saturday night September 24th. It seems as though Top Rank and HBO will put on two shows in a three week period.

Sept 10, 2004 Staples Center, LA
Erik Morales v Lavendor Johnson (IBF 135)
    Manny Pacquaio v TBA

Sept 24, Boardwalk Hall, A.C. NJ
Vitali Klitchko (WBC Heavyweight) v TBA
Miguel Cotto (WBO 140) v TBA

Look for the possiable Corley rematch to shut his mouth, or another top contender, maybe fellow englandite Junior Witter.

He'd better not pick Witter. That dude is a mover and will embarass Cotto.

corley could be more dangerous second time around especially if its stateside. a serious corley could create problems.

witter would be a good workout for cotto. it would add statis to his record. plus he'd gain another alphabet belt.

it would be neet if the corrales/castillo negotiations breakup and then have diego fight his first 140 against cotto.i want to see that fight in the worst way. and it makes sense. it could be a ppv.

Cotto vs Witter would be good, lets see if both are genuine world class.

Witter would eat Cotto for breakfast I do believe. Although, Cotto has actually had the better opposition so it would be an interesting match up now that I think about it. I think Witter would outbox him and probably put Cotto down at least once, if he didn't knock him out.

Cotto better go for Corley cause he was beating him and would do the same again. Only difference would be Cotto not letting Corley rock him this time.

I'd love to see cotto vs witter, i think witter would look great for 5 or 6 rounds but it would get very interesting in the 2nd half as cotto applies more pressure and witter tires, witter is awkward tho and can **** and is pretty big for the weight so could easily test cottos chin early on.
I think cotto would oubox corley this time around he'd be more cautious not to get caught and he'd have a gameplan this time instead of looking to just come out and twat him, which pretty much looked like his plan before since he was so disorganised

Regardless of the terrible ref in the Cotto vs Corley fight Cotto IMO would have come out on top, so i dont think Cotto needs to give Corley another shot without proving his worth.

Put Corley in with Witter for an eliminator, i dont think either fighter deserves a world title shot now but the winner of their fight would.
