    Under cards and greedy promoters!

The sport has changed a lot, giving the promoters free will and lack of control over the fighters and the contracts, The fighters want the fame and the money quick, there is no real hard road any more, all a fighter has to do is win 19-or 20 fights in his hometown or close to it, and have a quick spot on ESPN Friday night fights, Ko the other guy and if the guy keeps his "0" by Ko ing the bums he's fought...Running come Mark Taffet and Arum with rest of the snakes to get the fighter in with a Bear if they could. Keep supporting small boxing events and also, keep the promoters real, I have bought tickets for mega fights at 3k,a nd also tickets for 150, Now I call the company and negotiate the price of the tickets even if is Mayweather-Pacquiao, I want a reasonable price, Plus the showing of the PPV the following week by HBO doe not help!

That was some bad real attendance figures for the fights on american soil. I think the promotors and HBO fail to establish a fanbase for their fighters. In Europe the following of the best fighters is pretty huge. At least it is so in Germany and Denmark and possibly Poland and Hungary as well.

it said the first tie braker is head to head, which means if the last round gows as i expect (Ward, Kess and AA winning) then Froch will get in ahead of Dirrel.

          It's called "paper." Very sad.

At least the Vitali-Arreola bout he refers to was a ratings winner for HBO: it was their highest rated fight in 2009. So HBO got some **** for their buck.
Can't say that for some of the other fighters they've backed.

It's really called GREED.. Everyone wants their share of money but don't want to put up FULL event show for the paper.weak undercards, everyone thinks they are a headliner.

Not quite. Dirrell seems to be the second best fighter in the tournament but if he loses to Ward, as seems likely, he almost certainly won't get through. That would be unfortunate. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the rules as such, but when probably the second best fighter in the tournament doesn't get through to the semis, you can't say it's exactly what we wanted.

If he does get eliminated, though, I hope he'll fight Bute next.

The first tiebreaker is how the boxers fared head to head, but what if Kessler’s beaten Froch, Froch has beaten Dirrell and Green has beaten Kessler?)
1.) Direct comparison if both fought against each other
2.) If not, more KO wins in the tourney
3.) If equal, the fighter with better scorecards
                4.) If equal, coin toss

In your scenario, Dirrell would be eliminated because he'd be 0-1 in the head to heads. Green would go through because he'd be 1-0 in the head-to-heads. Froch and Kessler would both be 1-1 in the head to heads, so their scorecards over their three fights would be compared, and the one with the better overall scorecards would go through, the other would be eliminated. If Abraham KOs Froch, Froch would probably go out in that scenario, on the basis that he would have no scorecard at all in that fight.

I don't see Green beating Kessler though.

None of them are HBO fighters, so I'm not sure why HBO is relevant in this context?

It's true though that American boxers seem to rely too much on TV and ******** revenue these days, and not enough on building up a fanbase who will attend live fights. Too many fights take place in places like Las Vagas, where very few boxing fans actually live.

I was referring to the figures for Pac-Clottey, Williams-Martinez, Berto-Quintana etc.

You thought Pac-Clottey had bad real attendance figures?
