Who is the best current American heavyweight?

If Julius Long is a step-up, then the topic starter has a chutzpah putting him on a list of best anything.Well out of everybody he does have the best potential cuz of his size and age. But, with that being said he may not amount to anything at all is too soon to tell. However, I understand why you put him in the list. I would of done it too.
But, I am not sure if they have been building him up properly so he can get better. He started boxing late and I am not sure if he has been developing. They're are giving him too many bums who is destroying. Is time to step it up IMO. I would like to see him against somebody like a Julius Long next. But, that might be too much of a step up maybe?

No, he put him up there cuz honestly Wilder is the best US prospect we have. He is just the one with the most potential right now. So in that sense I see why Tunney put him on the list.
I think it is time for Wilder to step it up though. Look at who he has fought Julius Long is a step up fight. But, since Wilder started boxing late and as a pro has horrible comp and hasn't really developed or learned anything IMO. Is Long as bad as he is too much of a step up for Wilder?Comment

Probably Chambers followed by Thompson. Just hope Eddie has no lingering effects from the Klitschko Ko, which would be a shame if he did because he's not a half-bad fighter. Same goes for Thompson, although his obvious lack of any standout physical quality save for his height hampers him. I've never been sold on Arreola. Not only is he quite clearly lazy and undisciplined, but his technique is crude and he's far too predictable stylistically. Entertaining post-fight interviewee though.
Would hope Tor Hammer becomes somebody in the next few years. Just cause I think his name fawking rawks!Comment
