Why do fighters get criticized when their opponents choose against fighting back?

This wasn't like Manny Pacquiao cherry picking a guy he knew would stand in front of him for 12 rounds like Clottey.

Andre Ward is in a tournament, his next fight was with Allan Green, he robbed Green of his humanity and made sure that all of Boxing Scene never watches Allan Green fight again.

But no, you're right, we still gotta pin some blame on Ward.

I think if green actually threw any punches it would of made for a better fight but he did nothing.

I also don't think ward held alot. He threw all his punches on the inside so how was he holding if he was throwing punches --> Obviously I am the only one who thinks this )

Ward fought nothing like Hatton. Hatton always ran in and smother himself so he could not throw affective punches. I thought ward was fighting on the inside throwing effective punches.

And if Green would have throw punches on the inside also the fight wold have been more entertaining

I don't think I ever seen Clottey and Green throw less punches in a fight. Hell even in Green other lost against Miranda. He managed to drop Miranda.

But, instead of downplaying the fight. Give credit to Pac and Ward for their skills and totally dominating and making their opponents look like crap. Fact is nobody has ever make Clottey or Green look that bad before. It just so happened they fought fighters that were level above.

I only caught rounds 10-12, but I agree with you, I didn't see Ward doing all this "Hopkins-like" holding. He was just languishing on the inside. He could have thrown more combos or just established distance to blast Green at range, but if anybody deserves blame it's Allan Green.
