I definately can see the Hopkins comparison also, along with my earlier post

Right. Here is what he said after Dirrell beat Froch...

Dirrell's biggest flaw is internal. And until he gets over that mental block, he will continue to get sloppy - particularly in the latter stages of a fight. I remember I got slammed on these boards months ago when I said that while Dirrell should be able to beat Ward, he could never do it. I put Dirrell's natural talent on par with Roy Jones Jr - no joke. But damn at this stage...wtf!?!?!? Let's go!! And with that said, he's STILL good enough to beat Abraham and Froch. Imagine when he puts it all together.

But, I see no Roy in Ward. Dirrell has more Roy in him then Ward does.
I agree. And Dirrell defiantly does carry some of Roy's prime traits. Never really thought about it till now.

Well your right about the elusiveness but I think he doesn't have to fight that way, but he's versatile in the sense that he can fight the way he did tonight or he could box. Floyd has to be elusive,Ward doesn't. It is still early but he has a lot if potential to be great, but you do have to admit he's doing it against all the best in his weight class to this point. It will be nice to see if he can clean out the division. You are right he is still early in his career, but he looks to well on his way if he can keep it up. I see a fighter with Hopkins/Floyd type traits.

this is how i view Dirrell (posted this earlier)

respectfully i disagree.....i see Direll as untapped potential......the guy can box, trained in Michigan (long history of producing smart boxers) and he has excellent amatuer pedigree. I really think he can be very very good. He had his back against the wall coming into the AA fight and he responded......he was towelling Abraham up before the DQ. He is still inexperienced....the more and more he fights the better he will get.

                keywords: "untapped potential"

he really could be a beast......he just needs to believe!!!!!

.....potential can be a "dirty" word in sports. Let's hope AD lives up to his!!!

I have been watching ward for a while now and I am really pulling for him to win this tourney. i think he has to be the favorite.
Yeah i guess its just me and u with that thinks he's cut from that cloth. I think Dirrell may give him problems and could possibly beat him. We'll see...it should be a good one sept 25.

I think he dominates Dirrell as well
