Dirrell might just be able to beat Ward!!

While watching the fight, I was wondering what the hell Green trained for. The way to fight a guy like Ward, especially if you have height and reach on him, is to jab and double jab him. The guy didn't even throw his jab ONCE with any conviction. You gotta believe that Dirrell will be throwing that jab overtime. And if he is successful, he may just be able to beat Ward. That is a very interesting fight that I am looking forward to...

Regarding Kessler, he is going easily beat Green the way Ward did. He and Ward are lucky, they are both going to get in the finals because of this one easy win. It will be interesting to see who gets left out other than Green. It could be Dirrell if he loses to Ward and it could be Froch if he loses to Abraham. At some point, I would like to see Ward fight either Froch or Abraham and the winner of the Super Six fight Lucian Bute. That would determine who the best at 168 lbs is....

And I gotta call out the Showtime announcers on something: Calling Ward the second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard is a little premature, but he sure looks promising....

What's all this crying about Ward fighting in Oakland?

          Were the Olympics in Oakland?

If you're thinkin that Ward will lose a fight the second he leaves his hood, then you're gettin real desperate buddy

"Andre Ward becomes the new leader of the super six"????

Is this really an article from Cliff 'Owned' Rold? I was expecting something like: "Ward utterly exposes Green! LMAO, PWN."

            Just kidding of course.

Ward deserves credit for being so versatile. Hunter is right when saying that Ward doesn't have a style. He makes a gameplan for every opponent and executes it to perfection. Ward completely nullified Green by going inside and not allowing Green the space to get off.

Green was terrible though. He didn't look like a hungry fighter getting his first shot at a world title. If this was a standard Green we saw, then I have no doubt doubt that Kessler KO's him next.

He's clearly the best fighter in this tourney. Dirrell has a good chance, but I'm definitely taking Ward. Everyone else gets embarrassed.

If Ward is the future of boxing, I'm not sure I want to watch.

To the person who asked what's the problem with Ward not going out of Oakland, well, I'm not sure if you watched the first Fight 360, but the first thing Ward's promoter says is: "Ward doesn't travel". As such, they created his schedule around him and Oakland. While everybody else has had to go outside of their COUNTRY, Ward hasn't even ventured outside of Oakland. Apparently he is going to Dirrell's backyard...that's good, but, imo, not enough. Everybody else went to Europe to fight, and all the Europeans have gone to the States.

There are many reasons I dislike Ward. However, I'm not sure who can beat him... he's awkward, dirty and *cringe* talented. I hope someone beats the snot out of him soon, though I don't see it.

                  As dirty as it gets!

Green sure was useless but Ward is as dirty a boxer as any I've seen in the last few years. He often leads with the head or follows up with his head. He grabs, clinch all the time. He also pushes his opponent in the ropes all the time, etc. Honestly, he can play this game in Oakland with an inept ref but if he tries that kind of tactic elsewhere, he's going to get penalized or even disqualified if he doesn't adjust.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he isn't good, that would be denial... No, ward is an excellent boxer but let's face it: he's the dirtiest elite boxer in the World and his fights are real borefests.
He's going to need mad promotion to eventually be able to sell pay-per-views because right now, I can't imagine any casual boxing fan who'd want to pay to watch that!

If Dirrell loses to Ward in September, he'll almost certainly be eliminated from the tournament at that point. That's unfortunate, because the version of Dirrell who beat Abraham would certainly beat most of the others, but that's life. He really has only himself to blame, because if he'd fought Froch the way he fought Abraham, he'd have got a wide UD against Froch.

If he does get eliminated in September, though, he can fight Bute in his next fight, and that would be a great fight.

When it comes to ring intelligence Andre Ward is a Bernard Hopkins or Floyd Maywether.
