How Is the Way WARD fights inside In ANY way LEGAL???

The last 6 rounds of the fight he was fighting very much within the rules, but in the first 6 rounds there was a RIDICULOUS amount of holding and hitting.

BUT, the commentators didn't say peep about it, the ref didn't give any warnings, and most astonishing of all is the fact that Green never once complained about it!

Therefore, I conclude that I MUUUUUUST be missing something.

So can someone please explain to me how Wards style of in-fighting in that first 6 rounds was legal?

Is Holding and Hitting all of a sudden legal?

I've been wondering the same thing man. For a while I thought I was watching a Hatton fight in Manchester.

This is disgraceful, not only for the fact that its ugly and illegal, but its boring as ****.

I was starting to doze off by the 7th round. Green's dumb ass didn't help any just standing there like a lummox not throwing punches either.

    Garbage fight all around.

The referees let him get away with it in his home town whilst the commentators lavish praise on him. He's the new darling of the networks and they are trying to build him into a superstar.

If I remember right, Henry Akinwande got DQ'ed for holding Lennox Lewis too much..... Andre Ward held more than Henry tonight....

Plus the rule book says No Excessive Holding..... Way to go by the book....

          No.

That's the reason Ward insisted on having all his fights on Goossen promoted cards in Oakland.

The commentators and referee were disgraceful tonight.

I'm more worried about that head, it was right in there pushing against Green's all the time. Must be pretty distracting for a fighter...one would think.

If it's one gripe I have about Ward, it's the holding. He was getting too excessive with it.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that thought it was a bit excessive.

Green was the one initiating most of the holding, I am a fan of his but I am just being objective and don't see anything wrong with Ward's method of inside fighting in this fight.
