Oh subtle trait of negativity, like when have said numerous times that my prediction for the tourney finals will be Ward-AA? Yea that subtle trait of neagativity? Or when I said that Ward will win his next fight against Dirrell? That subtle trait of inactivity? We're agreed, then, that in the real world, the one outside of jrosales13 world, it's an upset?
Ward beating Kessler wasn't an upset to me personally, since I had Ward winning (see my signature), but it was a minor upset generally because Kessler was the tournament favorite, was considered a huge step up for an (ostensibly) inexperienced Ward and was expected to win.
Green beating Ward would be a bigger upset still.
To the bold, I didn't say anything about "overrating" or "nuthugging". I observed a subtle trait of negativity.
Or maybe me predicting Ward beating Green and that he is the better fighter than Green but that stylistacaclly wise Green could cause problems and beat Ward. And, that is why I won't call it an upset? I would not be shocked and personally I would not call it an upset. Yea I guess that is the subtle trait of negativity that you have seen?
I actually like Ward and root Ward just cuz he is a Cali guy like myself.
But, again the subtle trait of negativity that you see is that I don't overrate or nuthug Ward.Comment

Yeah, Bika-Codringtom was a nice fight. Another poster and I were saying as much before. I watched that at the time with a non-boxing fan and they were gripped.
jrosales13, you should surely av and sig up with the SOG Mafia, seeing as you like him so much
Both the US and UK oddsmakers have this stacked heavily in favor of a Ward win. 9-2 on Green winning here, even wider in the US.
Two years ago I bet on Margarito to T/KO Cotto at 4-1 (it would have been 3-1 for just a Margarito win over here), because that was the result I fully expected. The majority of observers and oddsmakers thought Cotto would be far too much class for Margarito to deal with, though. Therefore it was an upset, if not to me personally. That was two established title-holders, and that was deemed an upset. The outcry and shock over Margarito winning evidenced that, the majority of observers (fans and media people) were left stunned that Cotto lost - that's what an upset is about. This is a Champ vs. a guy with not near as much talent, who's done very little and of whom little is expected in his career. Of course it would be an upset for Green to win, even if you see something telling in the matchup that the majority don't.Comment

Again I, me personally would not call it an upset. Just like how you didn't. I did not call Margarito>Cotto an upset either.Yeah, Bika-Codringtom was a nice fight. Another poster and I were saying as much before. I watched that at the time with a non-boxing fan and they were gripped.

I have never said that the general public shouldn't call Green>Ward an upset. I said I would not be shocked. Meaning ME PERSONALLY would not call it an upset. IMO it wold not be an upset. I am talking for myself would not be consider an upset. Not talking about the general public. Talking about my opinion.
Just like for me, Margarito>Cotto wasn't an upset. Just like how you felt. Not saying for the general public but for me personally this is how I feel.
So again what is your problem with what my opinion on this fight is?Comment

Thanks for the clarification. There's a slight nuance between 'It wouldn't be an upset to me personally' and 'I wouldn't call it an upset' - the latter could easily be interpreted as saying it wouldn't be an upset per se for Green to beat Ward.Again I, me personally would not call it an upset. Just like how you didn't. I did not call Margarito>Cotto an upset either.

Who said I had a problem? I was merely looking for a clarification you could've given me explicitly a couple posts back.

I am of the majority who believe Ward will sorely outclass Green, FTR/FWIW.
To me personally, Ward stopping Green is what wouldn't be an upset if it happened. I think he could rain enough blows on Green to force it.Comment
