Comments Thread For: Donaire Respects Marquez's Heart, But Not His Power

WBA super flyweight interim champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire has listened to the warning of well-known Mexican promoter Fernando Beltran telling him not to underestimate his July 10 opponent Hernan “Tyson” Marquez but said that while he respects his opponent’s Mexican fighting heart he isn’t too concerned about his power. Donaire should win this fight pretty easily. If has been struggling to get down to 115 then you have to wonder why he was put in with guys like Vargas and Concepcion. He has held that interim WBA belt for too long, He could easily beat the champions at 115. Simpiwe Nongqawi and Hugo Cazares would not beat Nonito, He could dominate 115. There are much better fighters at 118, But maybe that's another reason why he wants to move up. To get some big names on his resume.

who the **** is Hernan Marquez.
I liked Donaire, and was a fan of his, but am no longer because of his soft opposition.
Hope Montiel destroys him, if Nonito grows a pair

I don't know what Donaire trying to proves by fighting Mepranum left-over.. he should be fighting a better opponent since his level is regarded as better than Mepranum! If Vic Darch ducked him then he should fight a little bit better opponents in his weight class in the likes of Nervaez for WBO title or Nongqayi for IBF title? Or he should go further north to seek for greener pasture! Why not go challege agbeko? MAres or I like him put in front of Hasegawa, before looking for the title in the BAtamweight divisions!

Donaire is a very skilled boxer, but he's just wasting his prime fighting against weak oppositions.

I don't think Donaire will find a real challenge until he steps up to 122 or above.

I think the divisions are freezing him out like they did to Paul Williams at 147.
