POLL - Haye - Why is he scared?

This may seem like a weird poll. I have my own personal interest in making it. I'm interested what people think.

If Haye opts for a much lesser opponent (such as Harrison) over seizing the chance of facing a Klitschko in a financially amicable deal, then Haye is a straight ducker, there is no question about that. A duck is a duck.

My question is not whether he is a ducker in that event, but rather his motives for ducking.

Vote in the poll by the following options.

    Is he,

    A) in fear of the Klitschkos physically? Is he mortally scared of being hit and knocked out by them? And to have his pride dented by taking a hard L after all his talk? Even though he will be ridiculed far more for talking and ducking than for talking and giving his best shot at beating one of them?

    B) looking to protect what he's got and get a money-train going, because he knows that defeat to a Klitschko would spell the end of his time in the heavyweight spotlight and his continued earning potential over the next couple of years?

Vote objectively, don't let emotions cloud your thought processes.

I don't see how his glass chin can magically improve, so it has to be A.

    Great thread BTW.

The Klitschkos will still be around after Haye beats Audley, nothing wrong with a former cruiserweight getting a few more reps in at Heavy.

You cant call it a duck unless Wlad or Haye retire having not fought.

Hmm, decisive calls either way are what I'm ideally looking for in this, but I should have added a 'A Bit Of Both' option just for the interest.

          This will do, though.

          Thanks for the input.

If you don't think it would represent a duck, don't vote.

Right here and now, Haye opting for a much lesser opponent when a Klitschko fight was on the table, when those guys were publically expressing their desire to get him in the ring next in line, would represent a duck. No two ways about it.

I'm not interested in bias. The poll isn't for people who don't think that would represent a duck. It's for the majority who do. And please note that majority includes a great many who were previously boosting Haye, it's not a majority who are predisposed to supporting the Klitschkos.

I think he just wanted to cash out before one of the Klits take him out, He knows if he beat Harrison the Klits would still be there but if he fights the Klits now he loses he wouldnt be able to cash in on the Harrison fight.

Although your POV is slightly nuanced, option B would best represent it, Ray.

Ie. that Haye is not mortally scared, but wants to cream as much £££ as he can off of this HW campaign.

                Thanks for your thoughts, man.

I don't think he's physically scared of them, or at least not to the extent to duck them for that reason alone. Otherwise he would not have trashed them as severely as he did for so long. He definitely wants the fight IMO. I personally think he's trying to play mind games where he tries to swing the negotiations in his favor by making it look like the Klitschkos are pursuing the fight and give the impression that Haye is in control. As a result it looks like Haye is in no rush and that the brothers are more interested than he is. It sucks for the fans big time, but could be effective in the long run.

At the end of the day boxing is a business and you can't blame Haye for making the best of it and trying to pursue the best deal possible for taking on the brothers. However, I still consider this a major duck given his claims that they were definitely next and I'm really disappointed in him from a fan's perspective.

Both. But there is also a thrid reason as well - he is a big queefing vagina who can run his mouth but doesn't want to get into the ring to back it up.
