For the most part fans only care about themselves, so no, I probably wouldn't care that much about fans generally.

Well, sure I would care. They decide who the best fighters really are and who is an ATG at the end of the day by remembering your performances and admiring your skill and courage.

But in short, yes, I would care about my fans.
