Oscar didn't have any problems with fans south of the border til he beat Chavez. That was enough.

It was because of a variety of things, he beat Chavez, who is a Mexican idol but it wasn't just because beat Chavez, he had a pretty bitter feud with Chavez back then and of course the Mexican people stood behind Chavez so when DLH beat Chavez the second time there was quite a lot of bitterness there. And when the Mexican people actually did get behind him he ran from Trinidad in the last few rounds.

1- He is as fake as they come
2- He doesn't look mexican
3- He doesn't want to be looked at as a mexican
4- Ran against Tito
5- Married a Puerto rican (can't blame him for that)
6- Lives in Puerto Rico
7- He looks gay

Im Mexican, and It has nothing to do with his being Mexican/American...It has more to do with the embarrasing losses he took while sporting the Mexican Flag....Ahh, Im ashamed just thinking about it.

But Vargas was more mexican than DLH..spoke spanish like most do..and he fought con huevos...mexican fans will always love a boxer who goes all out...which is why pac is big in mexico...

DLH had alot contributing to why alot of mexican fans didnt like him....he was a chicano and he did beat chavez and rubbed it in when we all knew chavez was old...he made it a big deal to ridicule chavez when he could like he did with vargas...plus his modeling and singing was just gay...

In reality mexicans from mexico are prejudice against those born here...ive been a "victim" of this many times...they automatically think we think we're better than them and that we know more...or that we're too good for mexico and its poverty/struggles...

See what i mean..We'll (chicanos) never be mexican enough for them regardless if our parents are 100% mexican. But i do understand what he's saying..some Chicanos do think they're another race..but we aint all like that...Im a chicano but anyone asks me what i am or my race..I'm 100% mexican...if u dont like it...then u can kiss my Houston born,mexican family raised huevos.
