Comments Thread For: Valuev Drops The Ball, Defaults on David Haye Rematch

Former heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev has his back against the wall. A $1.5 million dollar offer is sitting on the table for Valuev to fight WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in the fall. Valuev's only other option, a rematch with WBA champion David Haye, is now in the trash. [Click Here To Read More]

Haye vs Valuev would be great, now we know Haye can hurt him if he dont brake his arm

Wow, Don King has proved to be a great manager/promoter to Valuev. First he turns down $2.5 mil to fight Vitali and now will have to settle for $1.5 and then they let the rematch clause relapse! ****ing brilliant management, I tell ya...

From my perspective, the comments Valuev made after the fight was as if he didn't want to see Haye again.

          "Haye was too fast"

Something of that ilk, not good at all, if you think that. Fighters have promoters, managers, advisors, trainers etc. IMO Valuev didn't want to see Haye again. There's a reason why they want to fight an eliminator against Solis (don't know why though).

Lol I don't feel sorry for Valuev he's been given more gifts than he deserves + he seems pretty ****** I mean King was promoting Haye WITH Saurland and he accepts a fight with David while he's the champion knowing this....lol...just lol.

            And the gift vs Holyfield?

Then ofc there's him turning down 2.5 mill to fight Vitali

Nah he aint that smart really. Everything he's got now he deserves imo.

Yeah BostonGuy you right man.And Godzilla has 10 promoters which milks him as a money cow.Godzilla would be lucky if he will receive even 50% of that$1.5m.So $750.000 and KO loss - this is all that Godzilla will get from the fight.

Dan Rafael has a new column that rips Don King to shreds: King has totally screwed Valuev with his ******ity:

Wait he broke his arm? When did that happen? Do you mean he broke his hand? What about that fight would be great do you think, because Haye claimed he broke his hand in round 2, and he ran away from Valuev in round 1 as well.
