In answering this conumdrum, one has to realise that the REAL name of the "sweet science" is.....THE NOBLE ART of SELF DEFENCE.

So, judging by all the written accounts of the contests, I'd say, either or both bouts between James J. Jeffries and Jim Corbett, or even in recent time, Smuel Peter and Wladimir Klitschko.

Ward-Gatti 2 falls into this category also, as does several of Jack Johnson's fights and Dempsey-Tunney 1. There are very many more.

      Just my opinion

Two sloppy agressive fighters that try to counter punch here and there. it was agood fight, but does not portray "the sweet science" of boxing.

Wow..the BIGGEST B Hop fan on this site speaks about sloppiness..how's that for irony?!..

Cotto's jab, and Mosley's body work was unexpected from either side..Mosley had to get on his toes to make Cotto box on his toes more going backwards even switching from orthodox to southpaw to confuse the more seasoned vet..

It was a great role reversal fight that was extremely hard to judge..top 3 of my favorite Cotto fights!..

Agreed. It was one of the most brilliant displays of the sweet science in the past 20 years.
